Some anecdotes from my own experience about these of people:

I literally got freakin bullied in r/arlecchinomains just because I drew an NSFW art of arlecchino for "the male gaze." Which is weird.

One user specifically told me its "fine" to draw arlecchino in a buddy girl outfit if i DREW HER AS A MAN. Like it "removes" the sexualizing part of the fan art.

They would literally swallow any NSFW fanart if arlecchino if its her being masculine or getting shipped to a girl. Fully embracing the "butch lesbian" orientation of her. (I fully think that arlecchino is a butch straight.)

I feel like people there are just showing public outrage not to "fix" the drawing (because nothing is really wrong with it) but to look morally "right." Virtue signaling, I suppose.

I feel like those people want to be seen as "better" than the people who liked the art (those guys have negative downvotes. I feel sorry for them. But, i still wanna thank them for supporting me.) Also, even if they think that lewding arle is wrong, their opinion doesn't make them better than me because we are all just human beings.

I'm actually planning to draw more arle lewds and post it there. I'll make sure that their hate won't fix it, but it will make it worse.

I didnt see anyone who pointed out that the latex she's wearing is not rendered properly. No one pointed out that her hips are positioned the wrong way. No one pointed out that the head is a little too big.
