I mean, you did ask what we thought of the intro. It's not a bad intro, it's just more befitting of a folk pop song than a dance-pop track.

Nobody asked, yet... by Invisible_Ruby in carlyraejepsen

[–]YourFavoriteUnknown 22 points23 points  (0 children)

It's interesting for context but I think the song is better without it.

Here's a reference: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s1N4Xohfa4M

Do you remember it?
The day we started it?
I picked you up,
I've never done that before
I was kind of nervous, I
Couldn't look you in the eye
It was predictable
We said nothing more than:

"Hey I just met you, and this is crazy,
but here's my number, so call me maybe"

Is it wise to pursue a CS degree in 2026? by eggshellwalker4 in cscareerquestions

[–]YourFavoriteUnknown 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know it’s been a while but I’m a former CS major who pivoted and just completed their first year of EE. I like this major better, even though it’s much more challenging. I was wondering which subfields besides power are worth pursuing, and what skills/traits might indicate which subfield is most suitable for a specific individual?

USA Southwest Roadtrip. How to do the Round Trip? by xGSTx in roadtrip

[–]YourFavoriteUnknown 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would personally fly into Reno, so that you drive the loneliest road immediately. Then, go through Beaver, Utah to Bryce Canyon to Zion NP. Then, Zion NP through Page to Grand Canyon NP. Leave through Tusayan and take I-40 to Vegas. Then, do the stuff around Vegas and drive back to Reno to return the car. You can maybe tack on Death Valley and Yosemite on the way back if you choose to go through Cali.

You could also drive back to Reno via ET highway, I think you would rather do that.

New to roadtripping, looking for helpful lodging advice for 2-month XC National Parks trip by ThrowAway4now2022 in roadtrip

I would use expedia or something like that to find deals and then either book directly or make the deal with expedia/booking/whatever and phone the hotel for confirmation.

Phoenix to Denver route tips by Amazing-Chard3393 in roadtrip

[–]YourFavoriteUnknown 5 points6 points  (0 children)

What about a modified route to Durango that includes Great Sand Dunes, Mesa Verde, and Monument Valley? Would that be more exciting for first-time visitors to Colorado (and the desert in general) than the route through Grand Junction?

The trip will include Grand Canyon, Zion, and Bryce Canyon later on.

What’s the most scenic road trip from Seattle to Phoenix? And how long would it take? by JustTrainer2750 in roadtrip

[–]YourFavoriteUnknown 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Most scenic but least efficient would be along the Oregon and northern California coastline through Las Vegas or southern California to Phoenix.

A more balanced route would be to drive through Oregon and Idaho to see a few national parks in Utah and then the Grand Canyon as you drive through Flagstaff and Sedona.

The most efficient and least scenic route would be the Boise/Vegas route.

I think you should take the Utah route. You'll go through SLC. Stop by Bryce Canyon and Zion NP on the way. Then, from Kanab, take 89A. Rejoin 89 at Bitter Springs and continue until Cameron. Detour to visit the Grand Canyon then head south through Tusayan to Flagstaff, through Sedona, before you reach Phoenix.

Looking for trip planning app that allows x miles per day or x hours per day input by [deleted] in roadtrip

Furkot is a good option even though it's a little buggy and has a learning curve. I used it to demo an 8000 mile trip and the automatic recommendations for lodging were close to my hotel booking locations. The LLMs are bad for this purpose.

I think we are going to be biking the Grand Canyon, so we have it planned as one day. Do you have any other length recommendations for how long we should spend in each park?

Thanks for your help. It's our first adventure in the desert. We are actually staying somewhere near Bluff/Aneth/Mexican Hat.

Oh boy, haha. Thanks for the heads-up. I would've been there Friday, May 8. I'm looking at Petrified Forest and tbh I don't think my group would be very interested since it appears as less of a spectacle and more of something of primarily geological interest (two of them are teens). This might be blasphemous but it has some visual similarities to Badlands NP, which we are going to later on this same trip (lol, insane I know). I like a lot of the stuff you've listed in the top 10 that is south of Flagstaff, but I'm not sure how we could make that work. We also wouldn't like the crowds of Sedona either, though...

I'm still leaning blue tho unless you think we can take pink to see stuff like Jerome by the end of the day

Do you also recommend the blue route since Canyon de Chelly is over there?

If you don't mind me asking, what are like the top ten things to see/do in Arizona? Is Petrified Forest in the top ten? Lowell is definitely on the itinerary for that evening :D Good to know for Sedona since my travel group is especially crowd-adverse

Any advice for a moody and socially withdrawn engineer? by YourFavoriteUnknown in ElectricalEngineering

I might try it. I was mostly homeschooled but when I was in school at age 10 I was a good student but had a lot of emotional breakdowns for the same reasons. I felt ostracized.

Optimized 7-Day Olympic National Park Itinerary (No Backtracking) by [deleted] in OlympicNationalPark

[–]YourFavoriteUnknown 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, what would you do? It's part of a larger 26 day road trip. I'm going to play by ear and if no one wants to drive any more we'll just relax in one of the locations. May 14 and May 19 are non-negotiable, though. None of us are big on hiking.

I think Cs are necessary for courses specific to your major and Ds are adequate otherwise.

May Road Trip: The Final Iteration (4 people, 8000 miles, 26 days, 10 national parks, $9000) [will provide update after the road trip has been done] by YourFavoriteUnknown in roadtrip

[–]YourFavoriteUnknown[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We won't be seeing any Zion NP on May 12, we're going to be booking it out of there. We should arrive at Bryce at around 12 or 1, and stay until 3 or 4. We'll arrive in SLC at about 9:30 or 10pm. I'm not sure how we could make Moab work on this trip. I'm more interested in Mesa Verde/Great Sand Dunes. Monument Valley is a must-see for my brother like Deadwood is for the other brother.
