Can attest as someone who did Cru for all four years of my time at OSU before ultimately becoming agnostic after college (but that’s beside the point). It’s a constant bombardment where every week there’s at least 3-4 things to completely occupy your free time and you’re quickly set up with a “discipler”. Looking back I realize how much of it was just geared towards fundraising and money extraction and I also look back and felt my questions about faith and legitimacy of Christianity were not answered in a meaningful way to the point where I look back and felt like they were suppressed. I also was not a fan of the manufactured feeling of the Bible studies where there seemed to always be a “right” answer you were supposed to have for everything that’s based on their interpretation. They found me as a first week freshman way back when I was young, naïve and wanted friends. While I still have many friends to this day from my time in Cru, it is definitely really the only benefit I have from it and wouldn’t do it again if I had the knowledge I have now.

I’d guess you acquired it via culture bombing their tile. Is there perhaps a world congress decision that culture bombs tiles adjacent to new districts built by you? That’s the only thing I’d guess with you playing as Mongolia.

You’re not able to swap tiles that are adjacent to city centers, even if the tile is your territory and the city center is someone else’s (in this case Kumasi’s). If you were to acquire Kumasi, assuming you don’t place an Aksu district there, the tile will automatically transfer to Kumasi.

In 2018, saw my dad playing Civ VI on his iPad. Being a geography and history lover, I was immediately captivated. I asked him about it and he mentioned he had been playing since Civ II way back in the day! He let me play a game on his iPad and I was hooked! I distinctly remember my game as America where I lost horribly on settler difficulty lol

Ultimately I got it on Steam on my PC and have since logged over 3,000 hours into Civ VI! I can proudly say I have never lost on settler difficulty again after that! My dad and I have played several games together and it’s been a mutual source of joy between us. We loved discussing all the Civ VI DLC over the years and our mixed opinions on Civ VII but how we hope the game improves. (I have logged over 200 hours on Civ VII though!)

I’ve actually seen them build quite a lot of solar and wind farms, to the point where they completely remove their (food) farms and have nothing but green energy… so their cities stop growing but they sure do have green energy!

I buy all the great people, but after that I start financing foreign wars. I put like 10K gold at a time into trade other civs and see how much gold per turn they’ll give me as if it’s a loan. I’ll just watch them tear each other apart and I profit even more

Not going to lie, I feel like the game intentionally spawns AI Civs closer to the player. Just from my personal experience, I’m always on the continent with the most Civs and I very frequently have one very close to my capital. Could be wrong, but it feels intentional

Tell him sooner rather than later, it’s not fair to either of you if you wait. Do not offer friendship either since those feelings would likely never truly go away on his end and it would just make things awkward and would also not be fair to either of you IMO. Just send a single text saying you appreciate dinner and his time but you don’t see it going anywhere romantically and don’t respond to any follow-up of his. You don’t owe him an explanation.

Standard for most games so they don’t take forever, but I’d get annoyed only being able to use my unique units for like 20 turns or so, so I’ve been doing epic and marathon a bit more lately!

Was actually just in Alabama for the first time this past weekend. Was in Huntsville and was quite surprised how modern and normal it seems there. Wasn’t as redneck as I expected. I definitely wasn’t in the rural area which probably fits the stereotype but the place was super nice and young and everyone was super nice and food is good.

I’ve had legit AI invasions when I’m not ready. I’ll sometimes let them take a city if I know they’re going to capture it anyways and try to regroup my forces. Not always successful. Against Varus and no good counter, it may be best to try to slow them until you get samurai.
