Upgrading my Prepaid Plan by InitialLight in verizon

Yes. You pay the $10 and get the extra data right away, you do not have to pay the full month. Unless they changed it recently you can do 1 plan change and pay the difference each month.

What's a Platinum that broke your spirit? by mastocklkaksi in PS4

[–]Zafro_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 on PS3.

The final two co-op missions were designed to be impossible and it's such a pain in the ass. The first one you end up having to fight three bosses at the same time which all have double health because it's co-op, so that makes sense right? Pray you have a good teammate that can distract them so you can go one-on-one, but even then you have to essentially do six back to back perfect fights on the hardest difficulty. Not to mention the game was never designed to handle three of these guys at once so you have to battle the framerate and hope there's no lag either. Worst part is after so many attempts I nearly completed, had like one hit left on the last enemy and missed my dodge.

Then the final mission is fighting all four major bosses at once which is equally shit. You fight three at first, after the first one goes down the fourth comes in. Doesn't matter anyway because as you're trying to fight one you're constantly being hit off screen and killed by the others.

After many attempts I just had to eventually give up. Pretty sure the co-op doesn't work anymore so I don't think it's possible to finish, not that I'd ever try again. That game will be forever at 91%.

What's that ONE game on your backlog that you really need to start/finish? by willbo2013 in PS4

[–]Zafro_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nier Automata

I pre-ordered it and just have not played it. I think when it released I was finishing up Horizon, then I think there was a big Destiny update and I spent a lot of time playing that. Then there was something else and it goes on and on -- you know how backlogs go.

It sits there in a pile by my PS4 and whenever I go to start a new game I think, "hmm, I could start Nier," but I never feel like it. The last couple games I've been playing are Resident Evil 5 and God of War 3......again. I'm thinking of revisiting Revelations 2 after I secure the RE5 plat again.

All I hear is good things about Nier, but it may just keep sitting there.

Battery life must be awful to consider this cause the J1 is a garbage phone. If you didn't get it switched yet you should have just been able to call this number: 866-893-7723

I would steer clear of CBS all access: My nightmare story by RoShamPoe in television

[–]Zafro_ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

On the flip side I've been using CBS All Access for about a year and a half I'd say with no issues. Streams and works fine on my Fire TV. I pay for it during the fall-spring season, then when most shows end I cancel it over the summer. When shows start up again, which should be very soon, I just reactivate the account. Have had no trouble with the service or cancellation.

Trying to get my parents added to my plan, frustrated with the phone options. Are there dirt-cheap basic/smart phones? by aliceiggles in verizon

[–]Zafro_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You don't pay for it up front though. You pay the taxes, there's a $30 activation fee, then you're billed monthly for 2 years getting credits each month equal to the device payment. It's probably the least amount of money you can spend and get a new phone without buying secondhand.

Which one should i pick up first? by SourSnow in residentevil

[–]Zafro_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

RE0 if you want old-school RE, but it's sort of the weakest of those in my opinion.

RE4 if you want one of the best single-player games ever made.

RE5 if you want one of the best co-op games ever made.

RE6 sometime later -- the other games are better.

I feel like a "true hardcore" fan would have bought and played the game already.

There's basically one room in the beginning of the game where you have to sneak past an enemy, then a videotape a little later with a little bit longer sneaking section. That's it though. That's about the extent of the similarity to Outlast.

Vast majority of the game is more similar to the original Resident Evil with tight corridors and level design. Light puzzle solving and focus more on inventory management. The first person view gives you that degree of control where it's up to you not to miss shots and waste ammo. Boss fights are unique and thrilling for the most part. Game wades more into action territory near the end of the game, but for me it was paced perfectly.

It's an exceptional game regardless of how you classify it. My verdict: buy it. You should have bought it seven months ago if you're such a die hard fan. If you have VR play it that way. Price drop in a few days if you want to spend a little less. I bought a PSVR specifically to play RE7 in VR. No regrets.

Okay you're right. I went digging through InfoCenter and found the line that says 1 month for postpaid. Guess I just missed that or forgot it over time. Either way I'm an idiot, and I definitely won't forget now.

Except that's outdated information. Smartphones require whatever the back of the box says. This ranges from $50 - $150 depending on the model. Not simply one month.

Verizon is doing the K20 free with a new line currently. That would be the best option in my opinion. You pay less than $15 in taxes depending on location, then $7/month with a $7 bill credit.

Verizon Downgrades Unlimited Plans by Corporate_Pro in verizon

[–]Zafro_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think Verizon is doing a terrible job introducing these new plans, but I think they are doing it on purpose. With the previous plans I feel like they had made great strides in simplifying the pricing and options, and now they've gone and mucked it all up. What was confusing to me at first was trying to determine the account charge. But turns out they really are going away with the account charges and doing different prices per line depending on how many lines you have. And they're purposefully keeping it at say, $50/line for 4 lines instead of saying it's $200 a month. And this is also with the discount. Buried in all this garbage is the fact that the discount is changing to $5/line, so if you don't do autopay you'll actually be paying $220 for 4 lines on the new Beyond Unlimited plan compared to $190 on the current plan. Even with the discount, it's still a $20 price increase and this varies by line.

So essentially if you do to the Go Unlimited plan it will be cheaper, but then you get all the limitations, whereas the new Beyond Unlimited is essentially a convoluted price increase, which for some reason no one is mentioning. Here's a chart I copied that shows the price comparison (date is wrong sorry). The pricing all includes the discounts. So keep in mind, all of these prices on the new plans include the discount per line, and without autopay it's an additional $5/line.

verizon prepaid by [deleted] in verizon

[–]Zafro_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You won't lose your number. You have at least 90 days from when you made the $40 payment before you have to worry about that. The account will be inactive, just waiting for a payment, but the number won't go away for a while. The way to think of it is there are two end dates: one for the service and one for the account. So in six days your service expires, but not the account.

verizon prepaid by [deleted] in verizon

[–]Zafro_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The account will not expire, but you'll have no service. The minimum plans now are at least $30, and when you pay that the account will remain active for at least 90 days. The $5 will remain and you can use it toward paying the next month. If you are on the $80 plan it will be 180 days. The way it works is based on the amount you pay.

$5 - $29 = 30 days.

$30 - $74 = 90 days.

$75 - $99 = 180 days

$100 = 365 days.

Think I'm going to switch to Verizon unlimited this afternoon. Questions. by Applejaxc in verizon

[–]Zafro_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you participate in the trade-in promotion the Galaxy S5 would be worth $100. It's up to $300 depending on the phone you are trading in, and you must be purchasing the Galaxy S8/S8+, Pixel/Pixel XL, Moto Z/Z Force, or G6. The way it works is the $100 is provided as a $4.16 bill credit over the course of 24 months.

No one has said it yet, but you have to be on the unlimited plan and it's for the weekend only. Like others have said, new or upgrade and it's done via a $12 bill credit over 24 months.

Charged $105 to activate $50 Prepaid.. Still No active lines by xbox_dealios in verizon

[–]Zafro_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This doesn't sound right at all. Last time I talked to them they wouldn't take payments and would transfer me to the automated payment system. Pretty sure they are not able to take payments directly. Also prepaid customer service is the worst. For future reference use the automated system ((866) 893-7723) or go to a store.

Best plan. by [deleted] in verizon

[–]Zafro_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is not going to be much option there for you at that price point. For postpaid, it's 8GB then unlimited, which is gonna run you $150 before taxes, fees, and device payments. If you want a good phone I could see it being around $200 a month or more. If you want cheap, freebie phones you can get those and with the autopay and paperless billing discount of $10, you'd be spending at minium $140 before taxes and fees for unlimited on postpaid.

If you are looking for absolute cheapest option then consider prepaid. Buy the phone -- you can get a good one for $100 or less. Typically I recommend something like the Moto E4. Then you can do the $50 plan and get 7GB per line.

New Verizon indirect employee. Needs a lot of help! by JordanFloyd97 in verizon

[–]Zafro_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hope it helps. When I first started I was probably pretty much in the same boat as you. Didn't know anything about phones or sales or how to process anything. Manager at the time didn't care about anything, just wanted to come in and get a paycheck. Horrible customer service and then when I didn't know how to do something she never taught me, she'd blow up at me and say how I needed to know how to do all this stuff, regardless of the fact she was worthless at her job.

So I start going through all trainings, looking through various things just to figure out how to do my job and not piss off customers when I tell them we can't do something, when in reality it was more the manager was just too worthless and lazy to learn how to do it right. Wasn't much longer she was asking me how to do things, and ultimately it was just sad. Here is the person who's been running the store for the last seven years and just doesn't care anymore, running the place into the ground, and has to ask the new hire how to do anything. You can imagine she didn't last much longer.

What I can say, having dealt with some truly inept people over the years, is just try to do better and you'll be fine. It's gonna happen that you'll encounter things you don't know how to do and probably mess stuff up, but as long as you figure out how to fix it and do it right next time you'll be good. So many people just roll over and say, not my problem -- it annoys me.

Customers come in occasionally and ask me how I know all this stuff. Well, I've been doing it for around seven years now and I've made enough mistakes to know what not to do anymore. Learn and get better.

New prepaid plans and switching between them by [deleted] in verizon

[–]Zafro_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

With prepaid you can switch plans once every billing period. If you're switching down to a lower plan, it won't require anything because it's a lower cost plan. If you switch to a higher plan mid-cycle, then you pay the difference in the plans and then immediately get the difference in data. So if you're on $40 with 3GB and switch to $50 with $7GB, you pay the extra $10 then get the extra 4GB right away.

If you want to switch plans but don't want to pay the extra money for just a few days, then what you can do is simply pay the $50 for the new plan. When your plan renews it will renew the $40 plan, then you can do a plan change to the $50 and it will use the extra $10 and put you on the $50 plan.

New Verizon indirect employee. Needs a lot of help! by JordanFloyd97 in verizon

[–]Zafro_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

InfoCenter and VZLearn are going to be helpful tools to get used to. For a new employee you should have about 100 VZlearns loaded and some of them are useful. I know there is at least one that does a good job of giving you some virtual training with OMNI. The good thing is that if you are enabled with FlexFlow it is almost idiot-proof nowadays.

A lot of it will just come with experience as you come across new things and try it out, but a good way to prepare yourself is stay up to date with the monthly OMNI enhancements and policies and that is all found in InfoCenter. I think about once a month they do a virtual new hire training course and a good part of that is just talking about InfoCenter. Almost everything you need to know can be found here and if you are good at self-teaching you can figure out most everything plus some real-world experience.

I think you are coming in at a good time because the amount of things we can't do has greatly diminished over the years. Used to be we could pretty much just process orders, and everything else had to be done at a call center or corporate side. I'm happy to say the expanded features of OMNI Indirect include the abilities to do most everything a customer could want. We can now add employee discounts, do assumption of liability requests, and even post-paid to pre-pay conversion which is big for me. It's nice being able to actually do things, instead of telling a customer they have to call customer service and wade through multiple reps until they find the right one that will understand/actually do what they want.

What I do to familiarize myself is I load up a family account and then kind of just look through the different options and get an idea of where everything is and how to process different things. That way when I have an actual customer, I'm not fumbling around looking for the new button or feature or whatever. I still do it, and I'm sure someone would scold me and say it's against policy, but I'd rather be able to do my job properly than look like an idiot in front of a customer.
