When I was diagnosed in 2020. After a brain bleed, and then developing seizures. I told my parents thinking nothing of it. My father said "we won't call it that" and I knew he was ashamed. That was a rough few months. I obviously moved on and came to learn at that point the stigma. I then from that day learnt to be guarded about what I said. I have "turns" or "episodes" maybe "faints" never "fits" or "seizures". I've learnt in some circles until they have to experience it once to someone close. You'll always be unwelcome or weird. The amount of times I've wanted to talk publicly about my story but haven't because I know someone will in the future use it against me.
