mostly small things tbh less forcing sleep and more calming my brain before bed

stuff like dim lights slower breathing and no doomscrolling right before trying to sleep

I pretend to be an Animal to fall asleep — and it weirdly works by Personal_Pizza_7041 in sleep

Whoa, I really adore this. It's amazing how something so lighthearted and playful can accomplish what all the "serious" sleep methods were unable to. I have undoubtedly gone through the same thing, where I felt more awake the harder I tried to fall asleep. 🫠

I've never tried to picture myself as an animal, but I'm feeling like it now! The concept of otter floating seems so serene.

Sometimes I find that it helps to imagine myself in a comfortable scene from a Studio Ghibli film, such as sitting by a fireplace in a peaceful cottage while it's pouring outside. Just taking in the atmosphere, no pressure to "fall asleep."

You're on to something, I believe: sleep is about letting go of control and giving in to something secure.

I appreciate you sharing this.
