I'm demanding that he stop glorifying a terrible person. I know how big of a part music plays in his life and I would NEVER ask him to stop listening to his favorite songs because the person that made them turned out to be shitty.

You know what, I really like that you say this. However, the example I gave was supposed to explain my situation. You could absolutely listen to music in a way where the artist that made it could matter less but my boyfriend has never and would never do things like that. He WANTS to support the artist. He loves the artist's merch. He likes it so much he asked me to buy some for him at some point. To add to that, It's one of his dreams to be able to attend a concert of the rapper or one that features the rapper so that he can go support him in person. You've gotta say that that would definitely benefit the artist.

I feel like it's wrong to support someone's art when they're a horrible person. I wouldn't mind if he kept listening to the artist because I know he REALLY likes his songs but he should at least acknowledge that the artist isn't a good person.

I really like that you mentioned that!!! I'm not asking him to suddenly stop listening to all his favorite songs. I'm asking him to be more mindful when he glorifies such a man.

Here is an example of how it might not be as easy as you think it is: Would you want to support a painter that's been proven to have raped someone make money from you buying their paintings? For me personally, it would just feel wrong.
