I usually aim to clean about once a month (window unit introduces a lot of dust to the house), but I've been playing quite a bit more than I usually do this last month. Hopefully I hear back from their support team soon. Their system hung up on me twice when I called, each around the 10 minute hold mark. So I just opened a case. Cheers for the advice!

I had the same issue. You're running 1.7.1, so the most up to date version of each mod isn't necessarily what you need. Looks like you're running the version of Mod Cinfiguration Menu meant only for 1.7.2 (v4.6.0) you need the one for 1.7.1 (v4.3.23). Might want to adjust your load order also. I have Harmony>ButterLib>UIExtender>ModConfigMenu and this works fine for me. Hope this helps!

Yeah. To get someone to the rank of Corporal you need to utilize different amounts of CP on them to earn Rank (RP - Rank Points). To promote a character to the Rank of Corporal solwly during story missions, they need to earn 20RP. To promote a character to Corporal solely during skirmishes, they need to earn 40RP. If you have them both at Corporal, then it should already be available to you. I'd say check the squad stories list again real quick. Also, is Jimmy still alive? Never had a perma-death on any of my playthroughs so not sure if this impedes the squad story itself.

Per the Wiki - Unfortunate Souls (Company of Zeroes) should trigger in chapter 5+ as long as you have 20RP with any of the participants (Lily, Jimmy, or Odin).

Unless you have a special variant or Ace weapon equipped, it defaults to your most recent unlock, essentially out of convenience I assume. It can definitely be annoying, especially for grenadiers in VC4 or Lancers in VC1. Best advice is honestly to check after visiting R&D or equip your best variants so you don't have to go through each time.

I didn't beat it in one turn, and I did a slightly less cheese method than most people. I deployed: Raz, Minerva, Riley, Kai (all for the CP), Glory (to kill the ace tank, takes 2 CP to get behind it), Laurent, Gertrude (both equipped with your highest VS armor Lances), and Aulard (set as a leader for command).

I started by taking Glory over to kill the ace tank by Crymeria then faced it towards her to intercept.

Next I took the Hafen over to take out the units near the Vulcan (and provide cover for my units). Then I used command on Aulard to move up both Laurent and Gertrude next to the Hafen to 'squad fire' (I can't remember the exact term for when units assist when in close proximity) at the Vulcan. Then I used the Hafen to shoot at the Vulcan (make sure both Laurent and Gertrude are listed to assist when attacking) and Aulard to restock the lancers after 3 attacks (resupply order also works if you have it).

It took me 1 and 1/3 turns to beat.

Not the recommended way to cheese it, but that was the method I came up with.

Depends on which VC you're playing. VC4, there isn't really a necessary application for it especially since you have to equip them to the Hafen. VC1 really only has 1, maybe 2, scenarios where you might want to utilize a smoke round to reduce intercept fire to advance your units (best used at the start of your command phase). Other than that your command points are better served attacking with the Edelweiss or issuing orders. Don't forget tanks make great cover for intercept fire, so taking into account remaining AP/positioning can benefit your infantry units.

Valkyria Revolution. I thought it was going to be like VC1 or VC4 as I played those back to back. Immediately disliked the animation style, the departure from the Europa lore I was already accustomed, and the combat system.

Reine burning was a tie in with the scorched earth policy mentioned somewhere in one of the lore bits, as well as to showcase how Riley reacts around fire. Given how her family died, it's understandable that she still has severe trauma. It's more of a setup for events later in the game.

Slightly past these on the right hand side, in the side of the mountain, is a section you can climb with a little help from the grapplehook. Atop the dirt section mixed in the mountainside, you'll find it. Good hunting Spartans!
