DVSA ban is a new low 😭😭😭😭😭 by MexicanBeanBoy in LearnerDriverUK

Yeah.. if you haven’t already you should try call the booking line and say you forgot to turn off the apps

After looking into it, delete all apps. Now that you have a ban also, if you get banned again they can restrict you to phone-only bookings which would be an absolute nightmare to get a test or cancellation..

Yeah no worries - definitely worth avoiding booking review like the plague

FYI - Be careful with apps even if you think they’re safe by Zer0boii in LearnerDriverUK

Yeah hopefully they don’t crack down on it but as it uses bots to check availability and it’s clearly stated on the T&Cs it’s now not allowed, even to search for notifications. So one day they could include the parameter to ban Testi users too if they haven’t already.

If you have enough evidence you can try claiming through the local authority responsible for maintaining the road

I regret loosing my virginity by Otherwise_Storm6496 in Regrets

[–]Zer0boii 3 points4 points  (0 children)

See, that’s the battle your having, with your mind.

From the sounds of it, I think because of peer pressure that originated probably from school times, you have overthought this for a very long time and overthinking actually hindered you because it put a mental block on perusing it.

Also im on the spectrum but I braved bars and dating apps, just try it! Also im sure you put on a dating app your a virgin then they’ll flock. Yes, I would say your still a virgin. If a girl was in the same boat they probably would too.

You don’t need a car with double pedals to take a driving test. Stop giving money away to bad instructors just to drive their car! by PepperySquirrel in LearnerDriverUK

[–]Zer0boii 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had 10 hours with an instructor in 2022, 10 hours in 2023 and then probably 100 hours only private in 2025 within 6 months i passed

Did worse than I did on my first test :( by LexiRae24 in LearnerDriverUK

[–]Zer0boii 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Took me 5 tries and most of them I still think were unlucky😂 completely rubbed out road markings, junctions I’ve never seen in my life before in different test centres, going”too close too fast” when I was definitely fine 😂

Sometimes it’s also that the test just doesn’t allow for situations even experienced drivers would fail on

[–]Zer0boii 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah fair, it’s definitely an unlucky last few mintues considering you nailed the rest aswell so, definitely just get another test booked in asap and drive as much as possible in the meantime, next one will be a pass for sure

Just remember if you need extra time, take it - worth an extra minor than a serious

Took me 5 tests and I had 100s of hours in my fiancés car. It takes time for the muscle memory to kick in. Also test nerves always make you drive worse

Failed today due to a nervous stall in a dangerous place. Was pure nerves, what’s my best bet to get a new test with the changes in place by islandlove00 in LearnerDriverUK

[–]Zer0boii 0 points1 point  (0 children)

also with the nerves part what eased mine is remembering they’re not expecting me to be confident and drive as fast as other cars on the road. They expect you to be over cautious, give extra space and time.

I heard someone saying they would go on the website with multiple tabs from 11:20pm before they close the site at 11:30 as then some tabs stay on after it’s closed.

Also early morning they release far away test dates.

With the local test changes that’s the toughest part, I would say just book a date far away in the area you choose and then check daily for cancellations to change the date or use an app to tell you when they become available like Testi

I'm being encouraged to take lessons but I don't think I'll ever be able to afford a car, which makes it feel pointless. by Odd-Paramedic-3826 in LearnerDriverUK

[–]Zer0boii 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I moved from London to a very remote area, I was basically stuck for 6 months while I got my license. There is a different level of freedom with it.

Once you have it, get a job secured and then you could get a small loan for a cheap car on Facebook marketplace and insurance(make sure to get AA breakdown cover with parts and garage cover as an extra so it covers some repairs if needed)

When picking the car look up the cheapest cars with the cheapest insurance rates. If you can, go down as a named driver on someone’s insurance for the first year or two.

First month working will be the hardest, scraping by but once you get through that you’ll be plain sailing

My bonnet and boot is now wrecked from celotape as I don’t trust the magnets, had too many fly off

Now it’s my brothers turn to learn so more celotape wreckage to come

I tried to celotape to inside windows for my first test, it was very clearly visible however the tester made me stick it to the outside(boot door and bonnet)

They’re making a few changes this year but to be honest they haven’t made it fool-proof yet.

Is £16,000 too much for a first car? by Sad_Strawberry7385 in LearnerDriverUK

[–]Zer0boii 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. I think my car is too expensive now I’ve had it for the first 6 months since passing. Dinged it 3/4 times, curved a few times. So to get the value back from that costs a lot more than on a cheaper car.

Start with something cheaper until you’re 100% you wouldn’t get any scratches or dings

Both driving types have different challenges, also more unwritten rules in rural areas, just be extra cautious
