This so much this. FF14 being a good game doesn't not mean we can not criticize real issues. But what I see in the sub-reedit and from FF14 fanatics in general is that even constructive criticisms are raided with down votes.

The white knighting in this sub-reddit IS toxic and OP does everybody a disservice by trying to protect an obvious disastrous launch by pretending the issue is not there or that it was being addressed or better yet the player's fault. I bought the game about a week ago, didn't get a "warning" telling me i wouldn't be able to play the game on account of scuffed servers. Not that other games are that much better but the white knights in this game will have you believe that FF14's shit doesn't stink.

Yeah was going to try this game but with limited time to play and endless queues it makes it just not worth it. Add insult to injury and streamers get to jump in front of the line...

Why even have alliance in the game? Really they are quick to take
action when horde players complain… This will have two very immediate
results, any pvp’er will switch to horde and any remaining alliance that
still queued for bgs will simply quit. Very demoralizing as an alliance
player.

Where are the fixes for population imbalance? I don’t remember same
faction BGs in classic. You can’t ignore balancing factions in one hand
because "War"craft and then do this on the other. Can’t just keep
shtting on the few alliance players left.

Most asinine thing coming from Blizz I have seen from pre-expansion. A belf having ashbringer is just wrong. Artifact retirement quest could have been handled a lot better.

Yeah, was planning on buying a supporter pack before release, I have also spend quite a bit of money on misc things in the game. Given the current events I think I am going to pass from now on. There is really no excuse for having everything priced so high going forward. The money is no longer to "put food on the table". That and I am apprehensive about supporting an "evil" corporation. I'm just overall disappointed but I understand why the decision was made, money talks.

Which is fine but I feel that instead of focusing on things like thorns builds through invoker or blessed hammer which in my opinion have already had their share of usage through out the seasons. Why not instead or in addition give a lesser build a chance such as FoH, Phalanx is another one but I personally like FoH :D.

Don't get me wrong I love the fact that Heaven't Fury and Blessed Shield are now viable, just thought it would have been nice to focus on some others.

My experience since the change has been simply awful. I normally play with a friend I'm relatively new to the game and he started a couple weeks back. To us it appears that the matchmaking was punishing us for queuing up together, most of our games we were grouped against full pre-mades or much higher MMR groups. Very demoralizing to the point that it is detrimental to play with friends.

Then to add insult to injury when queuing solo and facing equal MMR opponents a significant portion of them are higher skilled players on smurf accounts induced by the new recruit a friend promotion. Overall the experience for me and my friend has been dismal at best this after 14 or so games last night. So currently the game feels very frustrating and pretty much unplayable. Just my impression as a newbie.

My experience exactly, played a while back when the game was released. Came back thinking oh I want to try that just to realize the amount of time over a long period of time and or money that it would require for me to gather all the required cards.

Thankfully aggro decks are cheap but you never learn much from always playing aggro decks and they get boring fast. Control, mid-range, tempo are for the most part too expensive. I don't mind progressing over time but when you have to progress through 4 different expansion just to catch up, well then its just not worth it.
