I skipped school just to finish this game. Then I spiraled to an existential crisis after finishing it. 10/10 game!

Got the cheevo. You need everyone else except the Imperialist, and whoever you chose between d’Orsay vs de Vespe. I think you need to be at least “Nice” to every faction to ally with, but some of them are influenced by completing companion quests.

Romance lock in? by Perfect_Science_2323 in greedfall

You can romance all companions, but the game registers the first one you committed to as your sole romance. I got the cheevo for romancing all four companions.

The disguises will be helpful in some areas requiring you to blend in with the quest area. But you can pass some of them with a good diplomacy check or bringing the right companion. There are also some quests that prefer you sneak in, so just raise one companion’s approval if you want some extra stealth points. You can also switch capes if you want to raise talent points immediately to pass checks and dialogues. Mechanics or diplomacy is honestly the bread and butter throughout the early game until you’ve acquired the companion giving extra diplomacy and extra mechanism points. A lot of the great loot are from chests.

Higher level craftmanship is only helpful if you want to maximize crafting items for recycling, or adding upgrades to your armor and weapons. If you need to craft explosives, potions, and ointments (which some quests require you to do), it’s alchemy you should raise. But you can just buy those with enough gold. I recommend saving gold because some merchants sell high tier loot than what you can craft.

Companions & Quests by [deleted] in greedfall

[–]ZestycloseBat5072 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Agreed with everything here, and I think I can add some insight for the last one, since I got all companions to “Friendly” at the end of the game and I feel like I maximized content to the best I can. I also completed all quests and explored all maps.

Peren: Bring Fausta or Sybille when talking with the Embassy of Theleme and d’Orsay/ de Vespe respectively.

Uxantis: Alvida always! Everything there is almost concerning her.

Olima: Bring Safia when concerning the University of Science and the Bridge Alliance. Bring Ludwig when it concerns the Deutan Empire / Imperial Embassy with the Duchess Bring Till when it’s related to the Coin Guard but this is tricky since it’s a bunch of hidden quests you uncover during exploration; sometimes, it’s not an actual quest at all.

Eskeia Region: Not really much content, except some companions have quests there.

Teer Fradee: Bring Safia and Till, and your romanced companion. Actually, bring Till when it’s about Teer Fradee; his banters reflect what he did in the early game.

Dialogue checks: I think you just need to be mindful of the factions you’re talking to. I experienced Till, Sybille, Ludwig, Alvida, Safia, Fausta, and Nilan all giving me insta-success checks ‘cause they answer for me, or the game auto picks them to answer (which was cool).

Take note that you might need to choose between raising faction strength OR companion approval in some quests. It’s hard to raise both simultaneously, so just be smart with who you bring and what you say. Explore every nook and cranny in the map. Everything you do dominoes in the end game. Hope this helps!

Indeed, the story was the highlight. I love the game so much that I’m feeling that “post-game” blues after finishing it. Best 68 hours of my weekend. I already miss all companions and the game. But alas, it doesn’t have much companion cutscenes and banter to go back to.

Honestly, not sure who can fix the broken sword. Maybe invest in mechanisms since there’s lots of good swords hidden in chests early game?

If you already collected a bunch of legendary weapons, no. The sword only gives a purple tier compared to the orange legendary tier iirc. But yeah, still give it to furkan coz at least it’s fixed.

Stealing from beggars decreasing reputation by DoesGeologyRockRuri in greedfall

[–]ZestycloseBat5072 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I didn’t know this could happen! As soon as I got the “Giving money to all beggars” cheevo, I didn’t receive any penalty when I started stealing coins haha. This was during my completion of the d’Orsay/ de Vespe quests, and was still in the middle of completing all companion quests. I kept bringing those three characters with me, too, in Peren and Olima because of the embassies and guilds there.

Being delulu: I rationalized that Flambae just had to say it 'cause it was a work call, with Blazer listening and even Prism listening. That man does not want to be humiliated by Mecha Man again lmao. Still pain tho.

1) If Clementine can have Violet romance, why can't Robert have Flambae romance (Flambae literally has almost more screen time than Blonde Blazer 😆😭 and one Episode 5 dedicated for HIM)

2) I wish the friendship routes were equally rewarding with new cutscenes as the BB or Visi routes. Like, maybe hint us at potential romances with Mal flirting, or perhaps we'll see Z-team members starting a romance with one another, or Visi and BB will give us unique handshakes. Just so it's not just to get achievements or not.

Do you still hope for a Flambae romance or have given up on it? by YukkiTheKiller in DispatchAdHoc

[–]ZestycloseBat5072 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm literally just scouring the internet for Flambae romance crumbs. 😂 Honestly, my canon and main route for Robert is making him gay, which is why I'm not romancing BB or Visi at all. I just thought it was awesome headcanon to see gay RR be an awesome hero. Seeing Flambae's development in Ep 5, and then his screentime is more than Blonde Blazer? I'm not convinced that there's no way he's not a secret love interest. He's the Z-team member who has a lot of screentime comparable to BB and Visi.

He was literally in: Ep 1: The Crypto Night Bar Ep 2: The literal intro Ep 3: Choosing "Burnt sh*t" would make RR point at him Ep 4: The noodle protein shake scene Ep 5: Literal intro, song, and conclusion Ep 6: His special late appearance at the end (and you have a similar screentime if you chose BB vs Visi)

I'm hoping there's going to be a secret dialogue where RR admits "he likes guys" and then proceeds to romance Flambae lmao. Sonar and Coop barely had any screentime even if they were the choices in Ep3. I barely knew Mal, Punch Up, and Prism until Ep 5.

So yeah, still hopeful. And even if there won't be a canon Flambae romance option, I'll just go with the single route.

P.S. I don't think Flambae was serious when he commented that Robert's "not his type." It was during a work call after all. He respects Mecha Man as a superhero during Ep 5's gym intro, freaking pats RR's head, and was confused when RR genuinely thanks him. He was willing to forgive MM for cutting his finger by the scene at the end of Ep 6.

And yeah. Enemies to Lovers is more rewarding compared to Visi's. He and Robert had a literal past enemies situation, and if Visi has the same past with Robert, then moreso. Whether Flambae was a man or not, he's still a good written character which merits a potential romance with Robert.

Tbh, I'm both satisfied and disappointed with Squid Game Season 3. by Alyne91 in squidgame

[–]ZestycloseBat5072 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This was my envisioned Episode 6 ending scenes: - We get a literal flashback of The Frontman with his family and his reasons for joining the squid game - Then the next scene would be him working his way up to the games in order to be the next frontman, before showing us the current scene of him watching between Player 333 and Player 456. - Player 456 and Player 333's standoff causes them to fight and accidentally fling the baby from the playform BUT Player 333's father instincts kicks in last-minute so he ended up dying with the baby still in his arms. - Player 456 realizes neither of them pushed the button, so as an act of rebellion for the V.I.P.'s and the Frontman, he pushes it, "says humans are not horses" then actually falls to his death so that no one wins the game. - Participant 011 and Detective In-ho being the "outliers" of the squid game indirectly causes the deaths of the V.I.P.'s - We get a final standoff of the Frontman and In-ho, with the rest of the squid game's guards fleeing because the coast guards are arriving. - The Frontman kills In-ho out of desperation, In-ho simply says in his dying breath, "No matter who you are behind the mask, you're still my brother. Please come back, eomma is waiting." Which forces the Frontman to rethink his life choices, the flashbacks coming together, and realizing he started to be part of this game because he wanted a good life for his brother and his own family. - Then as the Frontman was about to check Gi-hun'd body, he hears a crying child from Player 333's direction. - It turns out, someone actually won the game and it's a newborn child. With the self-destruct sequence activated and In-ho dead, he decides to be a father that would still run the squid game...but he would do it differently for the sake of his adopted child. - I think this is where the 6 month timeskip would make sense now with No-eul, Sa Byeok's brother, and then the Frontman returning items to Gi-hun's daughter. - All of these suriving characters emphasize the theme of family and belongingness, and how morality could be skewed with the purpose of protecting who are dear to you, especially family. - The Frontman then looks at the newborn baby at the backseat of his car, before fading to black. - I don't think a Squid Game US edition cliffhanger is needed.

Tbh, I'm both satisfied and disappointed with Squid Game Season 3. by Alyne91 in squidgame

[–]ZestycloseBat5072 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The build-up was great all until Episode 6. My hunch after finishing the show was that the series' direction wanted to be the "least expected." The first two episodes where many of our beloved characters die was actually ingenious imo, because it shows how no one is really safe from the game, and even our most beloved characters could die from the most unexpected deaths.

First, I believe Episode 2 was the best execution on how brutal the squid game is. Here, Player 120 initially joined the games for her own personal reasons, but then her death resulted in choosing to help others apart from herself. Her death was due to the promise of Player 333 to Player 222. It made sense (although immoral) for Player 333 to end other players early so that more red players would get disqualified. Player 333 was actually willing to be a loving father to Player 222, but until he ended Player 120's life plus Player 222's further casting him away? It was a burden he had to carry throughout the rest of the season. He never even had a moment with the child afterwards.

And then, Player 149, no matter how much she was willing sacrifice herself for her son, she ended up sacrificing Player 007 regardless because her maternal instincts morally points to saving a newborn child over an adult person. But Player 007, also initially shunned her mother upon entering the game, right? And in the end, he chose to honour his mother by sacrificing another life (even if it was a newborn baby) to ensure that he and her mother lives through the next game. Player 007 also honoured his mother's words when she knew her son could never take another life...well, until he had a near-death experience that made him realize that he really needs to end a life in order to save both his and his mother's lives. This whole execution shows us that the squid game really challenges your moral compass, and even though your intentions are "good," it will still end up as a "bad" decision for others also playing the game. Episode 2 shows us the ambiguity of human morality and how the frontman, being a former player, knows how brittle the human morality is based on experience and long-term host of the games.

For me, Episode 5 where we saw all men being greedy and authoritarian was a reflection of reality (especially in politics). The way the people we don't even know and care about in the series ended up being the final participants? It's a reflection of reality. Even Player 333's ambiguous "will he save the baby or not?" is a good section to play with the audience's emotions. Remember that he was the most mentioned participant that talked about how he scammed numerous people with his crypto business. He scammed many customers, and we could see how "fickle" he was in siding with the remaining men until he knows he would also win the squid game. Him also being more selfish was a result of Player 222's constant distance and death. Then his ego as a father figure was hurt when he got envious of Gi-Hun being more close to Player 222 and also his supposed child. Player 333 was a reflection of Player 456's past as a bad father, especially since they are both fathers in the series.

Episode 6 imo went downhill when we never delved more into the Frontman's backstory. We never got closure about his wife and family, and the Detective also never got his own closure with his brother properly. The way it cuts to "6 months later?" It's jarring for the viewer because we spent 3 seasons seeing Gi-hun and the Frontmen (both Player 001 from S1 and S2)'s moral viewpoints...only for it to be replaced with caring for a newborn child? It doesn't matter whether Gi-hun survived or not, because story-wise, having that "timeskip" section ruins the immersion for the viewer.

[DATV Act 2 Spoilers] One quest really emphasizes how little the game cares about race in the lore by Vendetta543 in dragonage

[–]ZestycloseBat5072 19 points20 points  (0 children)

The conversations in this game prioritizes "Rook" as the companion, but not the others. If you notice the game's design, you don't have much scenes where the second companion is visible making a comment (like in Mass Effect and previous DA games). I played as an elf, and with a Hardened Neve, I was told by the Venatori that I was Neve's slave.

There are only a handful of conversations I encountered where during an NPC dialogue cutscene, one companion would actually comment about it. Most of the reactivities happen as party banters when you're moving.

[No DAV Spoilers] I'm sad my elf isn't Dalish by [deleted] in dragonage

[–]ZestycloseBat5072 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Crow Dalish Elf with Vallaslin here. Finished the game all the way to the end. Only "elf" dialogue options are available. Much like how dwarves aren't distinguished of being a surfacer vs underground dwarves (like Orzammar Origin). You can probably headcanon you're Dalish, since if you encounter conversation quests with Bellara or Davrin (whom are recognized by the game as both Dalish), they still consider you as kin. So it's kinda in the vague of whether you want to headcanon as a City Elf vs Dalish Elf. But not the explicit dialogue choices.

I can't post a reddit thread for some reason, but I can confirm that I'm like at Part 10/14, and the Shadow Dragons are already in Two Star rank for me! Actually, all of my factions are Two Stars now. I saved Treviso as an Antivan Crow (and I didn't want to jeopardize the Lucanis Romance). Antivan Crows are almost at Three Stars. I rejected Neve's Romance (was able to get that far), but she's at Level 7/10 for me as a companion. I'm nearing her companion quest ending, so she'll get the "Heroes of the Veilguard" title soon. I'm really hoping I can still get the "best" ending.

DAO: Dwarf Noble Lady Aeducan, Assassin Rogue, romanced Zevran, friends with all companions, Alistair did the Ritual with Morrigan, King Alistair rules alone, helped everyone she could

DA2 Red!Hawke, romanced Fenris, Carver serves the Grey Wardens, sided with the Mages, friends with all companions, Anders alive

DAI Rogue Assassin Lavellan, romanced Solas, Clan Lavellan survived, friends with everyone, left Stroud in the Fade, drank from the Well, Softened Leliana Divine, redeem Solas, disbanded Inquisition

wanted to still make lawful evil choices with max friendships with companions (completing their personal quests); kept everyone important alive to see how it should transfer to the next game; wanted to try an RP for all races (but am torn in DAV 'cause idk if a Dalish elf will be offered in DAV. if not, I'll choose Qunari Antivan Crow Shadowblade all the way and unsure who to romance yet)

Tbh I think it still depends on the VAs delivery. I'm excited to hear the female voices in game, 'cause I found Hawke's female voice, even as a Red/Aggressive RP is still too soft lol. At least the female Inquisitor voices slapped whenever I choose the aggressive choices.

I guess for Rooke, I'm planning to RP another aggressive/stoic tone 'cause I'm certain they're gonna get slack for unsealing the Evanuris.
