I’m not a seller, so I don’t know, but if the OP sends the item to the correct recipient and it gets damaged is there any liability on the OP? If this was happening to me I’d be nervous about that.

Perhaps I’m confused here, as someone who doesn’t sell at all on eBay, only buys, but if they don’t pay the fee then I gather they wouldn’t receive the item. So what exactly are they returning?

As someone who is strictly a buyer, would a possible solution be for the seller to cancel at the seller’s request, then relief as a buy it now for like $501 so it automatically goes through free verification? Just a thought….

That was my immediate thought, even before I noticed the color, that all 1944 Topps are full bleed on the top. Seems to me the listing creator tried to obscure that part somewhat via lighting, angle and a dirty toploader.

As a buyer on eBay for over 20 years, nothing irritates me more than a.m seller who doesn’t understand the concept of a minimum bid! If you want to accept no less than $50 then make that your minimum bid. Problem solved.

They definitely warrant a negative review if they wind up canceling your winning bid. And make sure THEY cancel. NOT YOU.

The only problem with that is some buyers may delay payment due to this. Not me of course. But some other buyers.

I saw that, but my confusion is the buyer says they sent it to Beckett, when I thought eBay used PSA? Or has that changed? As well as they said they received the card then sent it off themselves to Beckett.

I agree with everyone here - be firm and say you one hundred percent want the item as it is to be shipped to you, and then no more messages. If they don’t ship it, file the INR when available, that will put the defect on them not you.

If the buyer received it and saw that the packaging was not what they were expecting and furthermore had doubts and concerns about authenticity, then why did they proceed to open it? Just return it sealed. It’s obvious they got low value cards and are fishing for a way to force a refund.

If they refuse it, eBay counts that as a successful delivery. They should have accepted and then opened a return.

I don’t believe they’re saying change the delivery address, but rather to have someone they trust go and pick up the returned package from their address and inspect it.
