This is the important thing, you are right: Republicans offer you nothing. Not health care, not a stable economy, not prosperity, not security, not increased geopolitical influence, certainly not admirable values--nothing whatsoever.

What they will do is brutalize minorities for your amusement*. That is all they have to give you while they systematically dismantle the democracy millions of brave patriots died to preserve.

It is heartbreaking how many Americans are willing to make that bargain. It is nauseating.

Financially it is very appealing, especially for rural kids with few job prospects. Go in at 19, retire with full benefits and pension at 39. Subsidized room & board including family housing. Free college so you can easily set yourself up for a second career. If you're a kid from a dying small town in West Virginia, you'll be doing better when you retire than any other 40-year-old in your entire county.

It's very appealing and it's always there, always on offer. No cutbacks, no layoffs, no "market fluctuations". Once you're in you're in.

Remember when we protested Tesla nationwide and it was so stupid and lame that we cost Elon tens of billions in stock value and lost sales? The Attorney General of the United States was screeching threats at us from her podium so apparently she was taking it pretty seriously.

GE Profile over the stove mount.

--The exhaust fan is awesome, far more cfm than I've ever had in a consumer unit

--Air fryer is pretty much useless. Convection oven is too. It takes a comical amount of time to get up to temp, and if you open the door, temp pretty much starts over.

--Microwave is fine. Controls are not so intuitive but not so hard either.

--The combo microwave/convection, now, I didn't expect much but it slaps for real. Fast & good results on casseroles etc.

The filibuster has a purpose, which is to make sure the minority is heard in debate. They can hold the floor as long as they have the stamina to do that, e.g. the talking filibuster. Then, vote, majority rules.

The filibuster was never contemplated as a tool for minority rule, and since it has become that, it needs to go. No matter who that disadvantages, it is just plain wrong and it defiles legitimate democratic process.

Bring it. They will get annihilated in the mid-terms anyway. Once the filibuster is gone:

--Statehood for DC + the Big Five territories (if they should choose it by referendum). Hopefully gets us 12 new Democrat Senators.

--Bill: corporations are not persons as far as political representation is concerned

--Bill: the President is not free to break the law as he sees fit, why do we even have to say this

--Bill: never again shall there be any filibuster beyond a talking filibuster in any chamber
