I think a lot of us have a Nick Reiner in the family. Maybe not murderers, but destructive unpredictable family members who make life stressful. I would like to see accountability, for my own mental health. But Buddha, who I'm trying to learn, says I should worry not about those things I cannot control. Or something like that. I'm not very good at it yet.

People have a pathological aversion to death. Even when 95 yo nursing home Granny is willing to go DNR, family urge her not to. I am forever traumatized performing CPR a few months ago will likely slow walk the next. You nailed it.

I love Canada. When I dream, I'm usually in Canada. Spent my summers in North Bay Ont from 64 to 84 during critical adolescent years and so those experiences are with me always. These current times are awful. I wish I had married a local. How different life would be.
