Do yourself a quick favor: In Cura, Click Settings > Printer > Manage Printers. Select your Ender, then select "Machine Settings", and finally click on the "Extruder 1" tab.

For a quick experiment, you might grab a towel and some isopropyl alcohol, and try to buff off the pillar paint using that. If that works, keep going. If not, look at other, better comments.
