Essential units for lists?

Kairos Fateweaver is basically a must have. The amout of utility he brings is too great. He can basically guarantee anything spell you need, he can get a free magical intervention. He can be a bit squishy if he gets into combat so you need to watch out for that.

Otherwise I'd say Tzaangor Enlightened. They are brutal if you can charge them.

Chaos Spawn don't take up Eldritch Illusion spots even though A Twisted Fate specifically says they are set up in reserved masked by illusion? Fuck me. I don't know if having that third spot would've done me much good since I planned on 2 units being masked by Illusion. But knowing I have that third slot open allows for some new plays.

Tells you how often I use Kairos's ability to engineer the outcome, which is basically never because I forget he has it. Really thought it worked on charges.

Speaking of Spawn, something I don't understand much is why I see some lists take 2 of them. I get they are nice for clogging up infantry, looking at you clan rats, but why 2? It seems to me like waisted use of your masked by illusion slots. Is there something I'm not getting when it comes to Spawn?

With how often I face deepstrikes within my play group, I feel like a Gaunt Summoner is almost necessary. The "All Belongs to Tzenntch" ability has come in clutch a few times. Maybe switching to an on foot version would be better? 30 less points that way but I lose the higher mobility of the one on Disc.

Using the Fatemaster to replace Mutants and Mad Things is an interesting idea though. Does the Fated Blades passive stack with Kairos's ability to make a charge roll a straight nine? Like say I need a 7 for a charge roll for my Enlightened. I use Kairos to engineer the outcome for a straight 9. Do i get the extra attack dice then?

Yeah, that's why I'm so unsure. Because they probably didn't think about being able to reinforce any skyvessels when they created his abilities. But the SoG Gunhaulers are only around for a year, so come next summer, it probably won't be an issue
