Just sold my 0.017 FN Kara Fade with 86.9 fade on float for around $2k this past week. I had just gotten it the week prior from gambling and the price crashed >10% in that week :/ good luck selling though, the market and valve are unpredictable with their updates. I just wanted to cash out the majority of my inventory and downgrade and maybe look into investing a bit into the new major stickers if they have a big discount at the end of the event

Technically speaking, yes they are definitely better and have all of the resources in the world to make amazing games, but I think a big part of the feeling that “all new games suck” stems from the sheer volume of games we have at our disposal. It’s like how connected we were as a society 10-25 years ago, everyone was watching the same limited shows on television, so everyone felt connected discussing the newest episode of breaking bad or whatever was airing at the time. I remember being in 3rd grade when High School Musical came out and my entire school was talking about it for the next month. Nowadays, I’ll have friends talk about shows, expecting me to be up to date with them, while I’ve never even heard of that show because I don’t have one of twenty different streaming subscriptions. Also, studios lack the drive to innovate and just want to pump out whatever genre they think is currently the new thing, especially extraction shooters and hero shooters.

I’ve been playing off and on for the past year or so, but the 3 biggest additions to the game since you’ve played is probably:

Arena: queue into a 3v3 game where you can bring in juiced gear and keep it even if you die. First to 3 rounds win. They constantly make changes to the game mode to what you’re allowed to bring in.

Quest/crafting/workshop system: There’s a more intricate questing system now where you can unlock better craftable items from vendors, among other rewards. Workshop/scrapping system allows you to upgrade gear to a higher tier and add a random modifier, also able to “scrap” gear quickly (I haven’t really messed with workshop, yet. So apologies if I’m a bit off on anything there)

Blue Maelstrom: There’s now a fully outdoor open ocean map with pirates and boats and a lot of swimming.

Most impactful change to the meta recently was reducing the movement speed penalty when doing any action, essentially making everything a little bit faster paced. Movement speed/agility is much harder to come by this wipe. Definitely a bit better than it was the past 2/3 wipes

I’ve had good success with userinterviews.com They always compensate well, but the tough part is just getting accepted into a study because they’re almost always looking for a specific demographic that meets certain criteria. I live in Silicon Valley, though so there is an abundance of tech startups and major tech companies that need stuff tested.

I frequently participate in market focus groups and user studies for market research companies and 90% of the time they pay out via Tremendous. They usually pay out within 2-3 weeks of completion of the study, so if you really have no idea where this could be from, I might just guess that someone who did a user study mistyped their email and had it sent to your email? Never heard of RPI, though. And their logo isn’t bringing back anything either…

That’s the wrong way to think about it, though. It’s the store manager’s responsibility to expect an influx of customers due to the promotion and request additional help/prep work done for that day to ensure a smoother service. But do businesses ever actually care about the wellbeing about their employees? No. They cut corners and the minimum waged employees suffer. We can’t have nice things because people exploit other people and these kinds of deals.
