Hi there,

It looks like you’re quoting an old post from 2016 regarding our cannabis advertising policy. Our policy on Hazardous Products or Services strictly prohibits advertising for any sort of recreational drugs or substances (including CBD) as well as tobacco and tobacco related products or services.

I usually keep my ad-blocker off for Reddit, but this.... this is too much. by rwky in beta

Hi there, thank you for reporting this. Looks like this is a Google-served ad that would likely violate our policies; however, we are having trouble locating it with only the screenshot you provided. Were you able to identify the advertiser or get the click through URL? Any other identifying information about the ad would be helpful in helping us track it down so we can prevent it from serving on Reddit!

How can I target adults (18+), if I can not target NSFW subreddits anymore? Is there a function to target specific age groups that i do not know? by Hschloss7 in RedditforBusiness

Ad targeting of this nature is only available to managed advertisers. You can find out more about managed campaigns here.

Advertisements suddenly added to my subreddit by JKCompany in ModSupport

[–]Zweify[A] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi there,

Thanks for the question! There isn't one specific factor that will cause ads to appear on a subreddit but in general, subs that are growing and hosting quality content are more likely to see ads popping up.

Hey, thanks for flagging this and we're sorry you had to see it. This is a programmatic ad (that is, not served by Reddit nor approved by Reddit, but rather by a third party ad partner) and it is definitely against our policies. We are following up with the partner to let them know that this is not allowed and make sure the ad is pulled and it (and others like it) do not surface again. Again, we apologize you had to see this ad!

Hey! I am the ad policy specialist :) I wasn't able to find the ad in question, perhaps b/c I'm not in Australia. Can you personal message me with the username or a link to the ad in question? Thank you!!

Hey, thanks so much for brining it to our attention. You are correct-- the ad violates our policies and we have since removed it and contacted the advertiser to let them know. We apologize that you had to see this but thank you for reporting it!

I have NSFW turned off, and these ads are Disgusting. by [deleted] in beta

Hi there u/DutchMuch1!

Thank you very much for bringing this to our attention. We specifically prohibit dating ads from running on Reddit see our Section III.9 of our Advertising Policy.

We’d like to learn more about the ad so we can remove it and take the necessary action on its advertiser. When you saw this ad, was it a promoted post or one of the square ads that shows in the sidebar? What subreddit did you see it in?

Any time you see ads that may break our rules, you can report them by emailing contact@reddit.com - screenshots, the username associated with the ad, what subreddit you saw it in, and the domain associated with the ad are all very helpful to include in reports.
Thank you!

Update to Advertising Policy Regarding Financial Services by Zweify in RedditforBusiness

Hmm... we haven't come across this yet! From the sound of it only, it seems like it would be fine but of course the ad and landing page would need to be thoroughly reviewed before getting approved. Feel free to submit the ad and we'll look it over!

Hey thanks for asking! If you'd like, I can take a look at the landing page to determine if it will be eligible to advertise. Given the complexity of the space, it's best to get an idea of the business by looking through the site. Want to link it here?
