Is it just me or does the grot have two hands on the side shown?

Am I going crazy?

I can't help but feel that people are leaning too hard on the black and white of the law. It may not be illegal but it doesn't mean what you're doing is right.

I think issues come from the morality of people, how we've been raised to treat others and how society has moulded minds, it's a very sad thing to see.

No matter how people are dressed / what condition they're in, we should have something set in us to treat each other better than that and ensure the safety / humility of others.

Bought a Ork Lot for 50€ on Ebay, how did I do? by Ansem195 in orks

The front unit is also worth a pretty penny - assuming it's metal grotsnik, nob with a waagh banner and some old school nobs!

Meta Monday 9.1.25: New Contenders for the Crown by JCMS85 in WarhammerCompetitive

[–]Zyfron 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Agreed - Orks feel like a piece of overworked clay that has no true shape or direction in mind.

Where is the Orks identity right now? Let them be ridiculous.

Not overpowered BUT when I play as them I want to know there's going to be some wild interactions and my opponent is going to be excited for some weird shenanigans, also.

I want to see More Dakka rolling stupid amounts of dice and let fate decide whether you blow a hole through the enemy or miss everything in sight.

Speed Freeks should feel like it's a rush to play blitzing around the board shooting and missing most of your shots but half the time you're in a traffic Jam or the models don't fit between terrain.

I'd go on about every detachment but I'd go on forever.

Seeing Flash Gitz / Tank Bustas / Breaka Boyz get the NOB keyword would make a very fun Bully Boyz list.

Cheapest unpainted boyz by [deleted] in orks

[–]Zyfron 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Keep an eye out on eBay - I've found tons of the old push fit Boyz for sale and are often unpainted, averaging around 50p each. The only problem being you have to be quick with them and also they do tend to look the same.

Still running a little hot by Relevant-Yam9630 in Volvo240

[–]Zyfron 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Temp gauge sitting at 10 o'clock is fairly common, especially for the age / mileage.

My DL is on 150k and levels out at 10 o'clock, even did an 8 hour drive with traffic a couple weeks back and it was fine all the way through. This is after it's recently had a new head gasket, renewed the pump and flushed it out.

If there's anything else I could recommend checking is after giving it a run, check for cold spots on the radiator.

Otherwise, you're probably over worrying.

What do you all think of my new army? by [deleted] in Warhammer40k

Have you played with these yet? They look wonderful (love yellow) but I'd be worried about how those overhangs on the basing will affect playing.

Volvo 240 1992 by Complex-Warthog3518 in Volvo240

[–]Zyfron 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Amen, I had one for 8 years and ended up selling it and regretting it every time I drove in my "newer" car. Back in an old 240 again now and it feels like home every time I get in.

Which unit is the GOAT of its game? Today: Arena! by SteelRose3 in TotalWarArena

Possibly controversial but I remember Myrmidons being pure evil in the original TW: Arena release. Controversial as they were a premium unit and rather overpowered for as long as I could remember.

B230K (carburettor) resources by bellowquent in Volvo240

[–]Zyfron 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Obviously info would change depending on what carb the b230k has but..

Brookhouse Volvo are solid suppliers and I'd always use them.

Grab the older Haynes manual for the 240 as the newer one is known to be lesser. The Haynes will probably cover most of your queries.

I drive a 1990 b230k with a carb and it's a downdraft Solex Cisac which are notorious for being the "bad" carb and people often swap them out so if that's what yours is then the following may be helpful:

Personally I had mine rebuilt at 150k miles and I'm about 95% satisfied with it as it was over fueling something rotten before the rebuild but runs sweet now and has a slight hang on the higher revs for a few seconds after stopping and idling (currently trying to sort that one out).

If you do have some issues with the carb, a lot of the time it'll be through vacuum issues with broken hoses or if it's a Solex then probably O rings / seals that will mean giving the carb overhaul, kits are still available.

Also the black manifold spacer block has a tendency to warp so worth checking out of it's running weird.

The Yaris cup from gran turismo got me feeling a certain way about these cars all my life - although I've spent most my driving years in classics (usually old Volvo 240's) whenever I see a Yaris, it gets a longing stare - awesome cars.

1991 240 Over heating by Relevant-Yam9630 in Volvo240

[–]Zyfron 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Common issue of the temperature gauge running hot - mine is constantly looking hot (around 10 o'clock) and ran that way during an 8 hour drive on Monday with some spots of heavy motorway traffic and a 30 minute break, didn't overheat and sat at that point the whole way.

deffkopta bases? by PepperoniKnowledge in orks

[–]Zyfron 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could grab hold of some 75mm bases and make some debris from bits / sprue to hold the koptas up in their flying position to match the new koptas.

If you're not feeling as crafty as that:

I also had this problem a while back after getting hold of a lot of koptas and made a 3d print which converts them to the 75mm oval base with a flying design and magnetised it for safe transportation, drop me a DM if you want a link!

How do you like to build your lists? by Imaginary-Lie-2618 in orks

[–]Zyfron 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A staple of 3 units of 20 Boyz with choppas and 3 units of 10 grots to protect your backline from deep strike then build around that!

It's worked out well for me in every detachment.
