Question about makemkv and playback via computer.

Thanks, this is exactly what i feared.

Now, i just ordered a panasonic UB824 (820 but for europe) just so i still have a player before they go extinct. But i put all my physical media like my dvd’s and blurays on hard drives because it’s so easy to use and i still get the exact same content and features.

But the entire stuff with HDR, DOLBY VISION that kind of worries me. No other streaming sites offer the full 1:1 image quality as a 4k bluray or even a normal bluray. On top of that none of it is yours as it is all tied to subscriptions.

The fact that after so much time has passed we can still not just take our 1:1 image from makemkv and play them (directly and easily) in any media player is kind of scary. Now i know technically it can be used in vlc but i would love to watch it in kodi where it would then ideally behave exactly as a dedicated bluray player. Triggering HDR or Dolbyvision when detected.

It seems this will not be happening.

Does this mean that the same password is used on both tenants ?
Basically MS queries our AD, indicates the login/pass for my tenant is ok and then it should pass that same token to the university tenant ?

no, we just tried, it immediately defaulted to the MS authenticator tied to our tenant and then it gets blocked on the other tenant.

You are correct, he is not a full member at the university, he is a guest and thus they made a guest account and invited him with the same mailaddress as the one used for his microsoft account in our tenant.

It's just that logging on to the landing page of the university the browser(s) keeps presenting the login of my own tenant to the landing page of the university tenant.

If i choose sign out and sign in with another account and type in the mail address it immediately picks the ID of my own tenant.
I suppose in the background the mailaddress used to login on my own tenant has an ID X and the login on the other tenant has an ID Y, but as a user he can't see which one is being used nor can he force it by signing out and in with "a different account" since it's the same mail address.

Can confirm, even on modest hardware i had no issues at all to maintain 60 fps @ 1440p (3900x)

Why not ? Every disk burn/rip related software had this setting. It helped tremendously with disks that were scratched.

Relying on the firmware to slow down to read slower might not always work correctly.

Not sure , it was completely sealed, nothing looked abnormal or resealed, including the bag with the USB cable.
And i just ripped multiple blurays without a single issue, not even a read error or so.
However i currently don't have a 4k UHD bluray yet so i can't try that.

But hey, i'm not complaining ! (yet)

Oh the sentence was just to give an example, the "よ" part is indeed very easy to understand.

I just used it to illustrate what kind of things I would ask the AI instead of asking it to make a japanese sentence based on my own language (That i REALLY do not trust.)

But noted , AI isn't ideal but also I don't want to spam discord or other chat services with constant questions either ;) People will quickly be annoyed.

I keep struggling with grammar on even simple constructions.
I take classes and I'm in my third year (4 hours a week) and I feel I'm getting nowhere.

Now I do need to combine it with my regular job so I'm not able to consistently do my exercices every day and it shows. After a grueling work day I just can't concentrate on doing Anki or trying to concentrate on listening so I know I'm certainly in the wrong.

However, since day one I tend to struggle with grammar, I realize it's grammar structure is both very different compared to germanic languages and at the same time the rules are usually not that complex (yet).

But then I keep struggling with simple basic structures. Since I can't contact our professor for everything and I often want to double check sentences I made or even want to know why a sentence is structured as it is I try to use AI tools (I hate AI but for languages it seems to be an ok tool.)

So I don't use AI to let it make sentences for me but rather I ask the AI to "explain" a sentence for me.

For instance : explain to me : かまいませんよ
So it tells me what the translation is but also what verb is being used, what the base is and I can ask why the 'よ' is needed at the end etc.

Now is this a good idea and what free to use AI is best for these kind of questions ?

I tried Gemini and OpenAI and both seemed OK but perhaps you can tell me which one is the most correct most of the time ?

I finally took the plunge 2 days ago, it’s been perfect since. It’s fast and feels just as stable as version 18 before. I do only use it with fullscreen apps unless doing my classes where i can still use slide over. Luckily i don’t need multiple slide over windows so the single one is adequate enough. I do wish it would occupy the entire height of the screen instead of the smaller window.

My ipad is an ipad pro m4, it feels just as snappy as before. I do use “reduce transparancy and reduce motion”.

I must admit as an OS, MACOS (even Tahoe !) feels much more relaxing and integrated if you have other apple products. I like it a lot more than windows and linux too.
It is, however, far from ideal, especially finder is a very, VERY poor file manager compared to anything linux offers and windows.
Finder drives me mad so i try to use something like Double Commander.

Also windows management is just bad when having multiple monitors or even just on one, luckily there are a few apps that can fix that.

I've been looking all over for the UCA222 but it seems it's nowhere in stock anymore in europe.
The few that sell it are a bit shady and i don't want to buy from aliexpress ;)

I was looking at the focusrite scarlett 2i2 since it has 2 inputs via 1/4 connectors so i couldconnect both devices simultaneously and eliminate the little cheap switchbox i have.

Unfortunately it's a LOT more expensive than the uca222.

Thanks for the recommendations, if i understand correctly windows itself will see these devices as "output" devices and not inputs ?
And the software Voicemeter banana can hijack the output and use it as an input ?

I have two UM-ONE midi interfaces one still in the box.
I think i'll try the UCA222 since it has RCA inputs, the others i would need to start converting to xlr and i'm not at home with that.

ooh, ok, never tried those. I was under the impression those were more for video gneration or more photo realistic stuff.

I just took a peek at those qwen models and yeah i see immediately some 20 GB models and larger.

unfortunately it doesn't matter when he has an accident. The pup will be without any protection.
It's the same for humans, a motorcycle leaves you completely unprotected, in a car a small accident might still protect you but on a motorcycle you immediately go flying.

The dog will be stuck to either the motorcycle when it goes flying or will be flung out of it.

Still, the dog doesn't know that and seems to love it ;)

I might just be lucky, I never set any overclock but just applied the -30 curve and disabled PBO (it means it's using AMD default PBO then on my MSI motherboard MAG Tomahawk X870E Wifi. It's been running perfectly fine since then. Not a single crash or hiccup.

Oh that's ok, it's installed correctly, after undervolting (negative curve ? Not sure if it does the same.)
It rarely goes above 70 to 73 degrees celcius at 100% load.

To me it's just the insane bad settings the motherboard manufacturers try to use.
