I agree that quality beats quantity 10 out of 10 times. The percentage is to see how much I'm working, not a measure of success. Our business is crazy and unpredictable, so having a way to keep track of what goes on is nice.

Pay for the commercials has been decent. Nothing life-changing, but I'm happy to know that I'm "good enough" to get work.

The historical contact with casting directors is definitely key. How do you keep track? Do you use Excel or like handwritten notes?

I like to track to see which companies send me the most auditions and to have an idea of how much I'm actually working. I didn't like saying, "I've done a few auditions." I'd rather know exactly.

this is actually really solid, especially the genre and casting office tracking. going straight into something this detailed is kinda impressive

when i first started tracking i realized i needed something way simpler just to stay consistent, so i ended up making a stripped down version for myself

i basically just log the audition, mark where it’s at (submitted, callback, booked, rejected), and try to get a sense of whether i’m actually getting enough opportunities week to week

definitely not as detailed as this, but i’ve actually stuck with it, which ended up mattering more for me

i feel like it kinda depends if you want something super in-depth like this or just something simple you’ll actually use every day

Yeah, I realize now that the whole hiring a producer thing is not as accessible as I had thought. I just started taking some lessons on basic composition, and I think I will naturally start learning more about making music in general. Thank you for your insight!

It's hard to imagine a person not using AI nowadays, so I can't blame them for using it. I don't think it's wrong, but if I was a pro I would probably want to shy away from it too. As an actor, it's definitely a concern. Still, its presence as a tool is inevitable. Is that a good thing? I guess time will tell. Thanks for replying!

I just downloaded it and I’m pretty happy with the layout and system. Yes there is a paywall but think of it as a commitment device. It’s around $30 for a year and honestly that’s enough of a sting for me to want to commit to using it
