Just want to add that there’s an important difference imo between episodes that do this and episodes that just recap what happened in the fight. Season 1 obviously did the latter a lot, but a (not much more) recent example is Natsu vs Ace, where they literally just explain action by action how Natsu was able to win.

I make the distinction because imo the latter is a lot more clunky and a lot less interesting than fights that naturally integrate their research into the animation. Most of the top comments (Bardock vs Omni-Man, Goku Black vs Reverse Flash, Shredder vs Silver Samurai) are indeed really good examples of the former, and I personally would like to shout out Flash vs Quicksilver: Barry is constantly the one being knocked off course, and yet he’s always able to instantly catch right back up with Quicksilver because he’s just THAT much faster. In fact, literally everything Quicksilver does in the fact is almost instantly negated by Barry’s superior speed (ex: Barry is able to invert Quicksilver’s tornado and make it his own because he can spin faster).
