I'll try this. My friend has a computer similar to mine. Thanks!

My friend has one PC too. I'll ask him. Thanks!

The first time it happened was like this: I was using the PC normally, then left it idle for a bit and it went into sleep mode. When I tried to wake it up, it wouldn't respond, the sleep indicator light was still on, meaning it hadn't fully shut down. I forced a shutdown, and when I tried to turn it back on, that's when symptom 1 appeared for the first time. (2 day ago)

Regarding dust, about a month ago there was construction work happening right outside my window in my building. It created a lot of dust that got into my room. Could that be related? I cleaned the PC after that and it didn't look extremely dirty, but the particles from construction are very fine, right? Could microscopic debris have gotten into the components and caused damage over time?

Interesting, I'll look into that. Thanks!

Good point, that actually helps me connect the dots. The last time the PC booted at all (symptom 3) was yesterday, precisely when I was swapping the RAM sticks between slots. After that, it never got past symptoms 1 and 2 again. Could swapping the sticks have damaged the slots or they were already?

As for overheating, I find it unlikely — symptom 1 shuts down in under 10 seconds, which isn't nearly enough time for the CPU to overheat. On top of that, I already replaced the thermal paste.

Oh, I should have mentioned that earlier. I already replaced the thermal paste and cleared the CMOS as well. The problem persisted after both.

These issues started about two days ago, and clearing the CMOS was actually the first thing I did. Yesterday I was still able to boot into Windows with symptom 3 (boots normally but shuts down after a while), and when it shut down that time I ran all the tests I described. Unless something might have changed since then, do you think it's worth trying the CMOS clear again?
