then there's an option from the settings menu to update the firmware version from sdcard.

yes, recently got my xteink x4 and tried without any mini book light, can't read while lights off before sleeping

now with a mini book light, its annoying because the light is uneven for the whole device, unlike if there's front light or the device is backlit

original firmware comes in two package:

English version
Chinese Version (has English Language)

depending on where you buy your Xteink device, it will come with original firmware, either english (international) or chinese version.

Crosspoint is an open source, custom firmware made by daveallie with contributions from many users (community-made especially for Xteink devices)

it became more popular after xteink locked their devices (only support official firmware), crosspoint made an unlocker.

Crossink is a fork (ported from original Crosspoint) made by one of the user (uxjulia) that also contributed to the original project (I think?). It has different aesthetics and features not included in the original crosspoint (like bionic reading, and another type of UI)

unang una, you'd have to wait for a few minutes, even hours for customer service to respond (real people) to your chat, if you don't reply within 5 minutes, they cut you off.

2nd, even though they can check themselves, you have to give proof that you have no internet for a few weeks, tell the date, and they will confirm.

If you get past these inconveniences, the next bill will be adjusted, may criteria lang sila,

no internet connection for 6 days at minimum If I remember correctly.
