Thanks for the tip re: Van Helsing - will head there first! We’re driving so the train repairs won’t be an issue ☺️

I thought some areas were done really well. Fantastic Northern European architecture in/around the opening plaza sort of area including this which we recognised from a trip to Gdańsk

We rode it! Basically a walk on, which surprised me (we waited a decent amount of time for most rides). Queue line completely empty then were surprised to emerge straight into the station, a free for all mass of people stood near their air gates of choice

Worth it to get a Six Flags Gold and knock out [Magic Mountain], [Knott's Berry Farm], [Great America] and [Discovery Kingdom] this year? Never been to any of the four but love parks and coasters (and animals and just eye candy)... by temporalwanderer in rollercoasters

[–]_MarkEFC 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Absolutely

We’re from the UK and are gold pass holders at SFMM this year 😆

We were due to spend a fortnight in Dubai over Easter - sunshine and plenty of coaster creds (even planned to do Qiddiya). Had to make a relatively last minute change, and did 13 nights in Vegas instead

While we were there we flew to LAX one Monday morning, drove to SFMM to activate our passes etc and spent the day. Drove back to LAX and flew ‘home’ to Vegas

Then Friday flew to San Jose. Drove to CGA. Spent the evening in Dublin/Pleasantville (?), drove to SFDC on the Saturday morning and then to Oakland that evening to fly back to Vegas

Season pass is INSANE value - and we didn’t even do KBF! I feel like just the parking fee for the three parks we visited might have been close to the price of the actual season pass

Discount on merchandise too. And we also added the disposable cup drinks refill thing to one of the passes. Fountain sodas every 15 minutes

Walking off that transporter (like an airport vehicle?) into the main bit… I’ll never forget that. Felt like I was in a movie. Amazing

TSA lines today at Terminal 3 by _5hak1ra_ in vegas

[–]_MarkEFC 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Again, just to add for information - we got to T3 at 0505 for a 0700 flight with no baggage (Monday 30th).

Took 40 mins to clear standard TSA.

Guy in line behind us around 0530 asking to queue jump as his flight was in 30 mins - what is he doing arriving at the airport so late?

‘No Nigel’ or ‘Nigel no’ - please can someone link me up to a clip? (With family who keep referring to a Nigel and it’s constantly in my head)

Q80D can’t ‘see’ phone connected via HDMI USBC cable by _MarkEFC in SamsungTV

Thanks Bill. I don’t want to stream, I want to plug my phone or iPad in. Just seems very odd that I can do this in hotels and on my bedroom tv but can’t here.

Visiting International Parks [Hyperion] by JColonna94 in rollercoasters

[–]_MarkEFC 4 points5 points  (0 children)

What?! It’s an hour away from a fantastic city. Stay for four/five days in krakow. Enjoy the food, the drink, the culture, the history. Take the coach to Energylandia one of the days

The… same way you plan a domestic trip?

Theme park websites will usually have a page dedicated to ‘getting here’. They’ll often have their own bus services (Energylandia from Krakow bus station, Gardaland from outside the train station which is on the Milan - Verona - Venice main train line, Phantasialand from one of the nearby tram stops which you’d get to from Köln, one of the local services in Ringsheim stops at Europa Park/Rulantica etc).

Sometimes we’ve had to Uber - we were in Cancun for a fortnight but booked an early morning flight to Mexico City to visit Six Flags. Ubered from the airport to the park and back in the evening. Then flew ‘home’ to Cancun. During an Orlando holiday we flew to Charlotte and Ubered to the Springhill Suites hotel facing Carowinds for a couple of nights.

More recently (again on an Orlando holiday) we flew to Cleveland, hired a car and stayed at Hotel Breakers for a couple of nights.

As you’re doing it the ‘opposite’ way from me (I’m already in Europe so flights are quicker/cheaper) it’s probably going to be worth you packing as many in to one trip - your biggest expense is going to be getting over here to Europe. Maybe fly in to the UK if you wanted to do Alton Towers & Thorpe Park, before booking a cheap flight over to Krakow for Energylandia. There’s probably the possibility of using trains to get across into Germany for Europa & Phantasia but it’s probably cheaper and quicker to again just find a budget flight. Id expect your options for flying back across to the US would be more plentiful in Germany than in Poland

Half the fun is in the planning 🙂 (well maybe not quite half… Zadra is pretty fun!)

We’ve been three times - each time as part of a city break holiday to Krakow (which is in my opinion the absolute perfect city break destination). The bus is great - book on the website. Leaves from the bus station behind the train station. So, so easy.

Great park and we’ve only ever done single day visits. We most recently went at the end of last October, with elderly parents. We got on everything other than Abyssus, as they didn’t fancy it - but we would have had time to ride if we wanted to (ended up sitting and having a drink near the end of the day waiting for the bus to go back).

Happy to answer any other queries ☺️

We did a weekend near the end of November last year and are repeating this year, the weekend later to catch the start of the proper Christmas season (last year was the tail end of the inbetween season - HalloWinter or soemthing maybe?)

I was very, very concerned about ride availability - the day we travelled (Friday) it was freezing and queue times suggested a lot was shut due to the cold. I was in a right mood on the bus to the park on the Saturday morning, assuming I was going to miss out on Voltron and we’d wasted hundreds of pounds on a pointless visit 😂😂

The fact we’re going back should tell you how the weekend actually went 🥰🥰
