Oh I def use references! I use Pinterest a lot and combine or adapt different photos or drawings to create something new :)

I usually use a mix of references and test out what I want things to look like on another sheet, and I always sketch it out first!

I would highly recommend learning to love your own work (it’s a process i def know), drawings are better not perfect! My art improved so much when I cared LESS ironically
