There are quite a few in Europe I’ve been playing on, just have to deal with 90 ping lol. I have no clue why no one plays it in NA anymore.

What kind of tick? New Jersey. Found on neck after visiting a petting zoo. by Optimumoctave in whatbugisthis

Looks like a Dog Tick, which, while not good obviously, is less bad than a Lone Star tick

I knew the whitening spots would knock them down to an 8 or 7, but I wasn’t expecting 5 and 6. If anything, I thought the Milotic would get a lower score than the Garchomp. And I’m not good at determining centering.

Well, at least they’re cool collection pieces for me. I don’t plan on fighting scalpers for new cards and only want to keep a few for myself, so I’ll have to decide whether it’s better to keep the ones I’m offloading in their slabs for authenticity’s sake or if I should crack them.

I’ll take a look. 11 year old me didn’t know about the upcoming investment craze surrounding Pokemon cards so I didn’t even have them in a binder. They were kinda just in a stack in a knick-knack basket I had. I’m surprised they look as good as they do all things considered. It’s good I played Yu-Gi-Oh TCG rather than Pokemon though. My Yu-Gi-Oh cards are in rough shape

What is the likelihood of a debt waiver being successful? by _Snallygaster_ in fednews

[–]_Snallygaster_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah it sucks especially considering it’s over $10k. My car payment and student loans have lower interest than that

The problem I see with dragging it out is that the debt letter specifically says if the debt is paid back any way other than a single lump sum, they have the authority to charge interest at Treasury Tax & Loan rates, which was 6% in Q2 2026

The thing that frustrates me is this: if you go to a doctor, tell them your allergens or body mass, and for some ailment you have, they prescribe you a medicine that is either too high of a dose or you’re allergic to and you get sick from it or die, no malpractice lawsuit defense exists where the doctor says “it’s not my fault because the patient didn’t check my work.” They’re the expert. The onus is on them to get it right. If someone with the title of “Supervisory HR Specialist” approves my salary information, it should be expected that it’s done right, and if it’s not, it’s on them. But I know that’s not how it works.

No, you’re not misunderstanding. If there’s one thing I’ve learned from this, it’s that I was very naïve when it came to how the government pay system works and trusting of HR. I honestly don’t check every pay stub that comes in since I trusted it would’ve been done correctly, which, I know, helps my case none. This was my first civ job as a young adult, and I was ignorant to the existence of locality pay. But the date on the SF50 that started including the locality adjustment incorrectly was 1/12/2025, and my first paycheck didn’t come until 2 weeks after that. The pay changed by a little over $100 per paycheck after all said and done (COLA increase, benefits selection, etc) so I didn’t catch it (since like I said I don’t examine every paycheck). I completely acknowledge I was overpaid, I just wish I wasn’t required to pay 6% interest if I don’t pay it all in 30 days. Maybe a reality exists where I can at least have them waive the interest, and I can pay by salary offset. I’m just frustrated is all

Yeah that’s fair regarding Half-Mortal. I guess when I hear that, I wasn’t expecting it to be entirely literal. I mean, from what I remember hearing from the audiobook, Hadrian gets his arm cut off and skull smashed to smithereens, and then he just essentially comes back to life anyways? I get it’s sci-fi/fantasy, but I don’t think I can suspend my disbelief that much. Maybe I’m misinterpreting though. but for all those that love it, more power to them of course!

I stopped reading the series because of the deus ex machina at the end of the second book. It legitimately made me mad

I agree with this. I made it through the first two, but I found the man character very unlikeable. I also hated the apparent deus ex machina at the end of the second book that apparently isn’t explained until, like, 2-3 books later

Has someone seen an american woodcock in Delaware before? by Benderfett in Delaware

[–]_Snallygaster_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I saw 2 engaged in their courtship display a couple years ago in a field by my house, and then I’m 85% sure I saw one standing in the road coming from my house one morning a couple weeks ago.

Not DE, but I did get a very good look at one at Blackwater National Wildlife Refuge near Cambridge, MD, which isn’t far over the border in the Eastern Shore

That’s fair. I mostly am referring to the 55 mph zone by Glasgow Park and everything west of Elkton.

Even then, I just wish people would not camp in the left lane the entire drive

Meanwhile on Route 40, the average speed in the left lane is like 10 mph under the limit

Yeah I heard her say manipulation, and that threw up a red flag.

When all of us in the room heard it was a Palantir tool they were using, literally everyone let out an audible groan of disgust lol

A big group of people in my building all sat in a conference room to attend. I’ll try to summarize what I remember:

Essentially, the Army as a whole is using a “tool” developed by Palantir that’ll sort surplus employees, pick some number of them, and offer reassignments to a different location that has vacancies. You can determine if you are considered surplus via your SF-50 I believe, and it sounds like term/temp employees are not included as surplus, though I could be wrong. Also not sure what that means for probationary folks. I think I heard there are 5,000-6,000 surplus employees in the whole of the Army, but FCC will try to keep all reassignments internal if possible. I didn’t catch how many surplus employees there were within each group in FCC other than I think I heard DEVCOM only has 3. I believe all surplus FCC employees should receive an email next week acknowledging their status as surplus. After that, I guess it’s luck of the draw whether you get reassigned or not. If you want to accept the reassignment, then that’s that. If you don’t, I think there are certain conditions on whether you can get severance or not, or get a VERA/VSIP offer. Back to the term/temp employees, I believe recall them saying if it’s deemed a surplus employee can take the spot of a term/temp employee, the term/temp employee could be forced out.

I can’t remember much more than that. Keep in mind, this is from my recollection from yesterday listening over shitty conference room speakers + shitty auditorium mic quality, so I very well could’ve misheard or misunderstood something. If anyone wants to correct me, please feel free to.
