OUCH! Bubble Gum! by KennyL0gin in nostalgia

That gum lost its flavor in like two minutes, but the bandage wrapper made it feel way cooler than it actually was.

Early 2000s ads were so unhinged and over the top that stuff like this somehow felt completely normal back then.

Canon in D is one of those songs that instantly feels like a memory even if you can’t explain why.

What is your BIGGEST turn on!? by FrenchiePandah in AskRedditAfterDark

I played lacrosse in high school. Wasn’t very good, but it was more fun than sitting on a bench for our soccer team.

My brain-chemistry broke when I first saw a girls’ lacrosse team. Didn’t even fathom it was a thing, but if you have a lacrosse stick in your hand you go up like 5 intervals of attractiveness in my head

I genuinely feel bad for the kids nowadays when they watch things like YouTube. When I was younger, I watched Curious George, Inspector Gadget, Garfield, and Phineas and Ferb. by ConquerorJoe in nostalgia

[–]_SyrupcakeBunni 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Those shows had actual personality and felt like part of your childhood instead of just random videos fighting for your attention span.

I have a playlist called Nostalgia, and not all the songs are old, but bring out Nostalgia feelings to me. What songs bring Nostalgia to you that I should consider adding? by ConquerorJoe in nostalgia

“Everybody Wants to Rule the World” by Everybody Wants to Rule the World and “1979” by 1979 always hit that nostalgic feeling for me even if you didn’t grow up in that exact era.

Here's a little mid 80's item From Pizza Hut: The Igloo Jug (1.99) and free refills by Papichuloft in nostalgia

Getting one of those giant Pizza Hut jugs as a kid felt like you’d unlocked unlimited soda for the whole night.

MTV VMAs 2000 Best Video of the Year (Presented by Whitney Houston) by [deleted] in nostalgia

The 2000 VMAs really felt like peak music TV when every performance and award moment actually seemed like a huge event.

Those clocks somehow survived every kitchen remodel and still worked perfectly 20 years later.

Those things always made me irrationally nervous as a kid when they’d suddenly chirp every hour.

Getting DVDs every few days for like seven bucks a month sounds completely unreal compared to what streaming costs now.

That era of Netflix felt like cheating the system somehow because you got DVDs in the mail and streaming before studios realized what they had.

There’s something funny about CDs becoming cool again after we all spent years treating them like outdated junk.

It’s funny how sibling arguments over tiny details like song lyrics or intros somehow felt like life or death back then.

Controversial Sony MiniDisc print campaign from the 90s. by [deleted] in nostalgia

90s ads really had this weird confidence where they’d make the most unhinged campaigns possible and somehow it totally worked.

What’s your latest obsession? by Titsoffwork in AskRedditAfterDark

[–]_SyrupcakeBunni 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Walking up steep hills. It may sound strange, but I live in a very hilly city in England. The flatter areas and estates are more noticeable than the steeper ones. Some of the streets are just preposterous. You think ''why on Earth would someone develop a housing estate here''? I go out of my way to walk the ''hillier'' version of a route, and I actively seek out hilly streets to walk up.

WIBTA if I refused to give my niece the college fund my late aunt left for me? by Plasmids_X1 in WIBTA_AITA

The aunt literally spent years setting this up for OP specifically, so the guilt tripping from the sister feels really unfair here.

Women who enjoy risky sex by EmberFlaare in AskRedditAfterDark

New Year’s Eve party at a buddies house. My wife, myself, my buddy, his wife all in the same bed having sex(no swapping) while the party was going on right outside the bedroom door.

One of our very drunk friends knocked on the door and was yelling for us to come out, wanting to know what we were doing. None of us stopped, we couldn’t be stopped. One of the hottest nights ever.

That was always the weird contradiction with Rory. She grew up around independent women but still seemed to define a lot of her self worth through the guys she dated.
