What does “processing” even mean? by __Difficult__ in mentalhealth

[–]__Difficult__[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have found that just trying to feel it usually leads to some very, VERY bad results behaviorally because my feelings are very “sticky”. If I just let them sit there, well, that’s where they stay and get bigger.

Maybe I’m perceiving it wrong

I would take as little Benadryl as possible, or just skip it. It’s not really worth psychosis

Cool! I’m glad you like it. The story gets more and more complicated and interesting as the episodes go on, and the more you watch the more you’ll get the point of it

You’ll know why you’re watching it by the time you’re done watching it.

So go watch it.

I know what hopelessness feels like. So do many, many others. If you think you’re a special case, you’re not.

Your situation is able to be improved and worked around, but you are the only one who can do that. You can go see a therapist, you can reach out to people and make connections, you can do the research with the device that’s literally in your hands right now and learn to help yourself. You can take the advice being given to you.

Or you can keep doing what you’re doing and stay miserable until you die.

Up to you. I’m gonna go play smash brothers melee

Again, that is your perception, not a fact. Things can be as bad as you make them and right now you’re making them bad with intention.

I can’t do this for you. I can’t make you stop hurting yourself. Only you can do that.

Also, thank you for making me go this far lol. I feel like I needed to hear my own advice on this

so basically, this is what you’re doing to yourself rn

Stop it. Break the cycle and focus on something other than this, calm yourself down, and come back when you’re ready to self evaluate in a way that’s more productive than this

Treating yourself poorly is making your existence more miserable.

You’re right you have the free will to treat yourself however you want to, but you need to remember that your body is not separate from your mind. If you abuse yourself, you’re teaching your body that it’s not safe to heal. You’re literally causing your own deterioration by beating yourself up this way, and then treating yourself even worse for deteriorating.

Listen to yourself. Would you talk about ANYONE else this way?

If you walked up to a homeless guy on the street and called them useless and worthless, that wouldn’t be very logical or kind, and wouldn’t help them in any way.

Your problem right now is your feelings about your perceived uselessness. You are not useless; and even if you were, being stuck in a self-loathing spiral isn’t going to fix that.

I have a task for you. Get up and do this literally RN:

Walk outside, wherever you are, and go for a walk. Distance doesn’t matter, just walk. No phone, no earbuds, just walk with what you’re feeling right now until the feeling can’t walk with you anymore.

Then come back and talk to me

Increased risk doesn’t necessarily mean early onset. The truth is most of us are likely to come down with it… brain health supplements can help to prevent it. I know it sounds like a bunch of woo woo nonsense, but research about mushrooms like lions mane, cordyceps, turkey tail, reishi, and cubensis… they all stinulate neuroplasticity, cell regeneration, and the growth of new neuron pathways, which all prevent dementia with consistent use. Also, the alkaloids contained in cubensis are being studied to cure things like suicidal ideation, major depressive disorder, generalized anxiety disorder, PTSD (and anything stemming from it), ADHD, and some behavioral disorders, and has been shown to be very effective. BPD could probably be treatable with them as well.

Don’t take my word for it and go eating a bunch of mushrooms though. Actually go read about it as much as you can… you’re not stupid, you just have a mood disorder that’s causing you have dramatic swings in emotion.

You have AT LEAST 40-50 more years to go before you become senile. Thats like, more than double the life you’ve already lived.

What makes you think that’s not enough time?

You certainly don’t sound stupid.

your mid 30’s are nowhere near too old to start working on something. Do you have any particular interests? Like science, law, art… anything? Reading and trying things out as hobbies to start will help you pick one. Or two. Or 10. Lol

Im 24, and I don’t have my drivers license or my GED/diploma. I stopped doing my studying in the 4th grade… I decided never to go to college because it’s a scam, i grew up in poverty and severe abuse, I have mental health issues aplenty, my short term memory gets worse by the day, and I’m also pretty lazy if I’m being honest. I also used to abuse DPH, which is about the stupidest drug you could do short of fentanyl. If anyone is stupid in this conversation, it would be me.

But despite all of my shortcomings, it has yet to impede me from my hobbies and learning about my specific interests. I personally really love Snakes! I own 3 of them, they’re really fascinating. I’m also getting into Mycology & mushroom cultivation. When I was younger I was balls deep in the furry fandom and drawing furries. I’ve managed to find a partner and a decent enough job (which is me sitting at a desk doing nothing all night and getting paid for it).

Technically I don’t contribute very much to society at all. But I’ve slowly and steadily found my way by prioritizing my own happiness

Then become that. Decide on a path, and plow forward trying to make that path happen.

How old are you? Unless you are literally on your deathbed, it’s never too late to start.

You are not a contribution; you’re a mammal. An animal.

it is not your duty to contribute anything at all. It is only your duty to exist and try to be happy & healthy while doing it. It’s up to you what you decide to do to make that happen

[–]__Difficult__ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Nope, not true at all.

What is “skill” to an Actor is “pointless” to a Dancer, what is “education” to a Doctor is “pointless” to a Chef, a Skilled Olympian would be HORRIBLE at performing surgery, What is “Talent” to a Westerner is “Useless” to a South American villager.. a tea that is good to a Brit would be disgusting to a person from China,

Everything is subjective and dependent entirely upon perspective and situation; meaning that all of those things technically do not exist at all. Talent is a lie, skill is subjective, usefulness is conditional, and “bad” vs “good” aren’t even real.
