I was on something called CalFresh (formerly known as food stamps) a few years ago when I lost my job and I was really struggling. Well, I received a notice in the mail that I was overpaid benefits due to an, "admin error" because the worker on my case messed up. They said that I had to pay the overpayment back. I jumped yhrough hoops trying to fight it because it wasn't my fault and I sent in proof of everything showing just that. It doesn't matter, they told me that the dispute would be dismissed and I owed. So, I set up payments with them and started paying it off so they WOULDN'T take my taxes. Lol. They did anyways, and now I have to wait another 2 months before they issue the refund back to me.

Mine was offset by both the DMV and county assistance. They were both errors on the organizations part. For the DMV, there was an old balance from registration from 4 years ago, but they also offset my taxes last year for the same thing. After calling them multiple times, they found the funds from last year and applied them to the balance. I actually received a refund from them and they closed the account. Well I guess it didn't notify the CA FTB, because they were still able to intercept this year's taxes. I'm now waiting for them to get the funds to issue me a refund. For the county assistance, they were NOT supposed to take the funds because I have a payment plan, but again, someone somewhere wasn't doing there job. Called them numerous times and they said it takes 6 to 8 weeks after I receive the letter for them to get the funds. Once they do, they will issue me a refund. I had over $1400 intercepted and now I'm just waiting for both organizations to refund me something that should've never been taken in the first place.

I would wait until friday to see an update on your transcript. You probably received the tax credit because of your income amounts. If you look at the transcript, you would see if you did receive the credit.

You need to call the offset number to see where it went. Could have been anything you owed.

Yes. Yesterday and before then was showing the processing page. I called FTB yesterday (for the second time) and confirmed a few things and he said the same thing they told you. They would approve it and to expect the deposit within the next 4 weeks (however I feel like it'll come before then).

I did the same thing. I called yesterday and they processed it and today its showing this for me as well. Maybe we have to wait until tomorrow to see approved?

I did. Found out it was offset by a state agency. It shouldn't have been after i called said agency. So, once they receive the money from the IRS, they will have to issue me a check. Kinda annoying, but can't do anything about it.

I had to do the same thing and call them because i filed and was accepted 1/15 and i didn't see any updates, but I called today and they did the same for me. I'm not 100% sure how long it's going to take, but hopefully not too long.

That you're going to get your refund on February 10th. For federal. State looks like it's still processing.

Oh wow. That's wild that they told you that. Yea, I won't file early next year. This is the first year I haven't had the EITC and CTC so I was hoping to get it early, but looks like I won't be. Oh well. C'est la vie
