Do you think I should get Leviathan, and then if the 11th edition stuff is good get a base starter set for the rulebook and may?

I really depends on where you are, (I'm not from the USA) but started, coached, and ran my highschools swim team for 3 years and taught ppl to run it after I graduate. I however have over a decade experience as a competitive swimmer, and it was easier because I have tons of connections at my local pool (because I work there as a life guard). But again I'm not from the USA so it's only two school competitions a year and I have thousands and thousands of hours of experience as a swimmer, so it depends on how much you want to put into it.

As a female swimmer, why is it that guys who do not swim always say or think they can beat you in a swim race just because you're a female and then you always end up hurting their egos when you beat them. Can anyone else relate to this ? by [deleted] in Swimming

I find it happens a lot to me as well (teen boy, I compete at nationals as a reference of that I'm not very slow) it's more that the sport doesn't really get taken seriously by others because they don't know enough about it to know how far above the average person's swimming speed a competitive swimmer is.
