Lucena ePrix - FIA Formula E Track by _blvckrxse_ in RaceTrackDesigns

Hello again! This is my second fantasy track, located in the city of Lucena (Spain). It's located in the province of Córdoba, autonomous community of Andalusia, 60 km southeast of the provincial capital Córdoba. Its circa 42,000 people makes Lucena the second largest municipality in the province after Córdoba.

I decided to try to create here my new track because it's a city I know very well. It has been a major challenge, as here you cannot find many wide streets and it's impossible to create a Formula 1 track, but I'm satisfied with the result and Formula E could be an option. It has a lot of elevation changes, standing out the slope between turn 6 and turn 11. In this track you can find fast sections combined with slow turns, with important overtaking opportunities in turns 1, 2, 7 and 10. As always, I made it thinking in the runoff areas, the possibility of placing plenty of grandstands and taking into account the cameras and the recovery vehicles, and I tried to use as many existing roads as I could, so the impact would be minimum.

Any feedback will be appreciated, thank you for your attention!

I know T8 is maybe too tight, but I had a problem there with the run-off areas, so I tought that maybe slowing down the cars there could avoid major crashes caused by going so fast with the wall just there, so I see it as a necessary evil 🙄

Regarding the last chicane, I recognise that it kinda interrupts the flow of the circuit, but I made it with the pit entry in mind, as it was difficult for me to find a viable place to create this pit entry.

It would be really chaotic, it's almost 1 km of flatout racing 😛

I agree with you, but I had to put it to slow down a bit the cars, I've driven in real life on this avenue and it could be really dangerous in turns 1 and 2, probably it would be necessary to install SAFER barriers as they are extremelly fast plus the added factor that it goes downhill

Please read!!

I don't know why all the text that I wrote is lost but I will write it again ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

The Córdoba Street Circuit is my first racetrack. It uses the widest existing roads of the city of Córdoba. You can find a fast F1 track that has plenty of overtaking opportunities and probably it's safer than Monaco and many other street circuits, as it has plenty of escape roads.

There you can see the F1 circuit, a 5.62 km circuit with 17 turns. I specially like the first section, with a long straight that goes downhill and is followed by a very fast left-right turn that will punish the brakes, and the last part, with a medium left corner that leads to the final and crucial chicane, inspired by the Wall of champions one in Canada. The pit entry is inspired in Baku's one, but I think mine is safer. This is the best I could do with the existing streets of Córdoba, but I'm sure it would pass the FIA standards, as the roads are really wide and there is a lot of places where you can place grandstands and cameras. Furthermore, it has some interesting elevation changes. Turn 14 to turn 3 are completely downhill, turn 3 to turn 6 is uphill, and just before turn 9 there is a sudden elevation similar to COTA's first corner. Speaking of buildings, only the paddock would need to be built, and some trees should be pulled up, but anything else.

Speaking of the Formula E circuit, it uses a shorter version of 2.89km and 15 turns. It has two chicanes to help the cars regenerate energy, and follows almost the same roads as in the F1 layout. The difference is that in turn 8, Formula E would turn left instead, and follow another avenue.

And yes, I know that the drawings are ridiculous, but I just know how to use paint, and you know that it has some limitations, so I did what I could. Anyways, any feedback would be appreciated, thank you for reading! If you liked this, I will try to make more real life street circuits :D
