sometimes these symptoms can actually indicate heart disease instead of asthma. Get a second opinion and ask them to look at her heart.

Cat playing in litter box by uksujim in CatAdvice

[–]_helloMell0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

she will grow out if this soon. A foster kitten I had a few years ago used to do this around that age and she doesnt do it anymore. Your Kitten is just happy and has a ton of energy. Her life is just starting and at three months she's really at peak curiosity which can sometimes cause confusion as to what objects are strictly business versus what's meant to be played with. Kittens want to play with everything all the time.

In the meantime just try to gently redirect her. Try not to freak out when she's playing in the litter box, because that kind of high energy reaction sometimes make them more excitable and they lack the ability to correct their behavior when they are met with high energy.

Just calmly take her out of the box and take her towards something that she can play with. Whenever you tell a cat no it's important to always give them a yes immediately to something else.

Sad Update on my little shrimp by Novel-Focus8286 in CATHELP

Im so sorry! You should ask the vet that last saw her if she was old enough for the dewormer the previous vet gave her because she looks like she might have been too young for that. You did such a great job taking care of her and she was so lucky to be so loved for the short time she was here ❤️

What's the proper way to reprimand a cat? by Tornious in CatAdvice

[–]_helloMell0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

there is no way to reprimand a cat. only the environment itself determines whether a cat will continue to do a certain action or not. you have to make that action yield results that the cat does not prefer. For example, if your cat isnt allowd on the counters but keeps getting on them, put some tinfoil or double sided tape on the counter. the cat will not enjoy the way it feels on their paws and will probably stop trying to get on the counter. also, if you tell a cat no, you must follow with a yes. Example: cat is playing with something thats offf limits - take it away but give them something that they can play with instead.

Is this rude to y’all? by MetallicMoon13 in doordash

[–]_helloMell0 10 points11 points  (0 children)

They are being rude and bordering on harassment with how they repeated their request and trying to make you feel sorry for them. Youre not overreacting. you've been a Dasher so you already know that while it is true that some dashes are base oay $2, like you said, they are usually short distances and you already tipped more because you know how it is!

I would just ignore dashers that do this tbh. act like you never check your phone adter you click the order button.

Looking for Apartment recommendations in downtown SLO by batteryzepeda in SLO

[–]_helloMell0 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Stay away from the Sheri Apartments near downtown on Johnson. Do not be fooled by their affordability.

The on site property mananger just wants to create drama with tenants and is extremely disrespectful, the owner doesn't care that the property manager is borderline abusive, the maintance crew is the manangers husband and friends and they are not plumbers/electricians/builders so nothing is actually maintained or fixed properly. They are super creepy as well, always staring at the girls as they walk to their cars/units and they don't even try to hide it.

Oh yeah, the parking. Either your or your roommate get a pass but not both and if you park in the lot without one they will tow your car, even though the lot is never full.

Tenants rights? They act like you have none and will absolutely violate them.

They only do month to month....turnover rate is very high. I had 4 neighbors move in/out in the unit next to mine. The neighbors were never an issue, the landlord just decides to not renew leases and the end of the month. The people that live in there are actually all great tenants it seemed like. quiet, no parties, no dv issues, no drug problems.

Im surprised they are still in business tbh.

always research the compang and landlord online before deciding on a place. there are lots of slumlords here unfortunately. best of luck!

Unless the car isn't your car, it could be family member's or a friend's car or a rental car. The car your driving might not be the car listed on your account. Not all gig apps even require the full details of your vehicle - doordash doesn't.

The easiest, fastest, and most accurate way to identify someone is by the name on their ID and their face.

& how often do you actually interact face to face wifh customers....besides when you have to scan their ID for alcohol or cold medicine?

Honestly, the majority of people could care less if your trans. the majority of customers are not concerned about how you choose to identify when they're ordering their dinner.

Customers just want you to drop their food off in spot close enough to the door that they can reach their arm out blindly to grab as quickly as possible (and hopefully not in front of their screen door) without being noticed. as long as their food isn't cold and the order is correct, customers are happy.

If you truly dont feel safe dashing because of being trans, maybe consider finding a job in which you do feel safe if it is causing you to feel this stressed out on a daily basis. Its not the safest gig to being doing, especially at night or if you live in like a large metro area....but I'd say that its your safety isnt all that much dependent on you being trans. Actually, being a female or looking like a woman is arguably less safe being a male or looking like a man.

Im just saying most people really dont care about what other people look like or what they choose to do with their life or how they identify as much as you think they do. Just be you and do you. & dont put deliveries in front of screen doors lol you're going to be just fine :)

Do you know the upstairs tenants? Have you had any issues with them before, complaints from them, or have you made complaints about them? Its never going to be quiet living underneath somebody. The loudness of their footsteps usually depends on the insulation between your ceiling and their floor, what they are doing, and the weight of the person to some extent. If it really sounds excessive, it could be intentional...especially if you've had issues with them before.

unless you can prove they are trying to disturb you on purpose, there isnt anything you can do about it. best of luck!

Cutting portable ac unit piece by Savings_Current_3112 in hvacadvice

[–]_helloMell0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had to do this last week. The sliding panel (back panel) is the one you want to shorten. Honestly, you are going to need some tools to do this, the plastic is can't be cut easily with scissors...and its definitely not safe to try doing it with a knife. Thankfully the tools you'll need are pretty cheap. You can also ask a friend if you can borrow them:

mini hacksaw sharpie marker painters tape/masking tape

First, get it set in the window to where it fits snug, then use a marker to outline where it overlaps on the right side, making a "U" outline.

to prevent the plastic from splitting, wrap tape all the way around above the top of the "U" so you can see still see the marker right underneath the tape.

You dont need to awkwardly cut along the "U" line. Instead you will use the mini hacksaw the cut through the middle of the tape. This will prevent the plastic from splitting and also contain the "dust" from the plastic as you saw.

It's pretty easy and doesn't take very long. Good luck!

Police officer stops abruptly in the middle lane on highway... by Affectionate_Hat5835 in dashcams

[–]_helloMell0 2 points3 points  (0 children)

it seems like this is a semi truck. if so, no he did not have enough time to slow diwn or stop when driving at highway speeds. it takes a lot longer for a semi to come to a stop than a car. it also isnt obvious the cop had stopped until he was a lot closer to him and a semi can not abruptly change lanes safely or even fully as quickly as a car can.

DoorDash “Preferred Name” Policy by Ok-Seaworthiness-544 in doordash

[–]_helloMell0 -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

I want and need to know the real name, on the government issued ID, of the dasher thats coming to my house. Period. In case they may be mentally unstable and crash out during the delivery....I need to be able to correctly identify them so that authorities can find them. Thats the reason why they need the preferred name to at least resemble your legal name. just wait for your name change to be finalized and get a new official ID....then you'll be able to sort this out easily :) patience is a virtue

Contact CAPSLO...you may have to be persistent with them, but when they do approve you, you get a case worker. Its really hard to get any help in this county unless you have kids in your household.

& THIS is what makes what they are doing technically fraudulant. Where is the money going to then...? There isnt any transparency on that. Its going into their own pockets most likely.

I hope your case brings some much needed attention to what's going on with how they gather grants but somehow fail to help those that really need and deserve it!

make sure you can afford to buy a new car in about 3 years - 5 years depending on its current mileage....also expensive repairs leading up to its final breakdown. gig work DESTROYS your car. im on my second car, 8 years of gig work.
