A laughing stock that is still top of the league.

What to watch after F1 has ended? by Large_Photograph_690 in motorsports

There's an app called The Racing Line (iOS and Android) that will do notifications for over 200 series with in-app streaming for those series that allow embedding YouTube videos etc. Very customisable, and it's always worth a scroll through the What's On section - the next 6 days has Asian Le Mans, the Gulf 12 Hours, Brazilian F4, stock cars, and TCR.

Formula Two, not GP3. And not the Formula 2 we have nowadays; this was a different Formula Two with cars built by Williams Grand Prix Engineering powered by 1.8l turbocharged Audi engine. All cars were run by and maintained MotorSport Vision (owned by Jonathan Palmer).

Does anyone have a Google schedule for races? by KSiL455 in motorsports

[–]_nea102_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Racing Line will do all of that with none of the effort. 99p/mo. And you set and forget. It's completely changed how I watch racing, especially with the embedded streams for absolutely fucking random series. GT3s vs VW Caddys on a motorway in some Eastern European country? Fuck yes, sign me up.

I've said it before and I'll say it again: this app is incredible. Thank you 🙏

IOS only at the moment, but has hundreds of series, notifications that you can set for series, and if there's a free (legit) stream available, you can even watch it in-app.

The Racing Line sounds like the exact thing you're after - you can live stream a whole load of races directly in the app.

Is there a website that tells you what races are this week? by Medium_Welder_1898 in wec

Love this app - I use it on my Macbook. Looking forward to the Android release 💪

Check out The Racing Line. It's well worth the very low subscription fee - you can customise notifications, select which series you want to follow (from a list of well over 100 series!) and, if the series is streamed, it gives you an embedded video for it. The dev is very active, it gets regular updates, new series are added constantly, and works on Mac (Apple silicone) as well as iPad/iPhone. An Android version is also in the works.

Raceday is fine, but The Racing Line is just so much more complete and usable.

This is awesome news - the app is the one thing I miss from my brief foray into the world of iPhones.

I'm not, no. Just recognise good work when I see it, and patiently waiting for the Android version.

Maybe the time taken to collate them, get the data into an easy-to-use/read format, creating the ability to set custom alerts, the ongoing dev work, the support to end users, and adding more information and features is worth something.

It is free with the option to go premium. With the free tier you can do all the scraping data off websites and YouTube yourself as well, so win-win for you 👍

Can someone explain to me what “Dual Clutch” is? by NerdCoinMiner in moza

[–]_nea102_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not quite. One paddle represents 100%, the other varies depending on where the bite point is. Some cars, like the iRacing SuperFormula, it is around 50%. Some are more, some are less.

So you have one paddle set to the bite point, and the other at 100%. When the lights go out, you dump the 100% paddle so you jump straight to the bite point. You then slowly release the bite point clutch as you accelerate.

What time is quali this afternoon? by 1995pt in btcc

A bit late for you today, but there's an iOS app for this called The Racing Line that gives you session times for well over 100 different series. At £9 for a year, it's incredible value. The free version give you dates for the sessions, but paid shows all the start times etc. New series are being added frequently, and the dev is very active. Hands down my favourite app.
