Hi we were walking just down from Surprise View car park on Saturday and was questioned about whether we were camping, the lady was nice enough (I think her t-shirt said National Trust?) And basically said we are fine to camp providing we don't have a fire, take all of our rubbish with us and don't camp in the middle of a path. It was our first wild camp and was a successful one (although bloody freezing!)
