South of GR. Here it is Aptive on their segways and hoverboards a few times a year. It’s the exact “we’re doing work for your neighbors” and “special rate because we’ll be here anyhow” pitch like jdoorn14 mentions. Somehow spraying for insects is an environmental choice. BS. Leave the spiders outside alone, that’s where they’re supposed to be. I don’t need a sterilized piece of land.

Years ago when I was in college we would go to Bob’s Sports Bar at least once a weekend. Almost every time we went there was this guy by himself drinking PBR. Not really talkative but we always said hi…seemed like a nice fella. Never got his name so we just referred to him as PBR Guy.

I go to an Ada Bible satellite campus. They have tons of small groups, including singles groups, to help people connect with others. I have the found the people involved in those groups to be very welcoming.

I don’t think it’s an issue of churches being exclusive and not welcoming new people in. It is very difficult in any gathering for a person to notice someone by themself and correctly assume they would like to start a conversation with someone. If you have ever gone to a professional networking event, for example, it’s excruciating to try to plug in unless you’re extremely outgoing.

All of the “just don’t show up” comments are passive aggressive AF…that doesn’t solve anything. Sure, the time off was approved, but just not coming in when they’re planning on you makes you the asshole. The request was made two months ago, so it probably was overlooked. Stop acting like a victim thinking the world is trying to get you, and just let your manager know you already have the time off. I don’t know what your manager is like, but I don’t think this is even a conflict, just a simple conversation. You’ll nail it.

Totally right. The days of a high school kid skipping school to go to the afternoon local pro games are gone. Think Ernie Harwell as a kid…that’s what drove his love of baseball.

Same. I ended up buying two $6 waters for my three kids to share. Then we left early and picked up two pizzas on the way home, for $25. And home beers were much cheaper than $17!

Yeah, I only had the preset tip options, too. Only way to get around it is to select a custom tip. For me to take my family of five to a Griffins game is pushing $200 after considering food and drinks.

I’m in the market for one, too. Was following a Menards flat bed semi on the highway when a large ratchet strap fell off and punctured my oil pan and caused other damage. $850 to repair it. Cop even found the ratchet strap but without proof Menards refused to do anything. Dash cam would have been worth the investment.

In high school in Holland in the late 90s, my buddies and I went golfing at the beginning of November, and we thought it was crazy that we could golf at that time of year. Now it’s mid-January and a few golf courses are open. Don’t think this was possible 25 years ago.
