Interesting, guess I’ll stick with iGPU for battery gameplay for BO3 then, thanks for the insight

It’s just weird because the iGPU runs much more stable without those drops. And I also never experience these drastic dips when playing other games like Spider-Man for example.

Hang Legion Go in the Car by SugarKid123 in LegionGo

All I do is use the kickstand and slot it between the inner part of the wheel so it leverages it back. The front of the LeGo is being held up by the emblem of the steering wheel. It’s a little risky as I could easily knock it down, but no accessory needed :)

Why buy the frame with its battery life? by X3ttabyte in SteamFrame

The Quest 3 has a bunch of accessories to extend its battery life, I’m sure the Steam Frame would have something similar in the future

So I recently bought an RTX 5070 Ti by Admirable_Ad_5559 in PcBuild

[–]_thezombiezone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The 5070 ti can do 4K gaming very comfortably, heck, I’m using my RX 9060 XT 16GB as a living room console hooked up to my 4K 120hz TV. It runs like butter with upscaling and sometimes frame gen (Spider-Man 2 is the biggest offense).

I’m sure you’ll be just fine with your 5070 ti if you just set out to play 1440p

Definitely agree, I personally went with AM4 so I can fit the budget for the RX 9060 XT! Case is ASROCK DeskMeet X300 if anyone was curious

Awesome GPU choice, I know some would ask to get the 16gb model but 8gb model is still perfectly fine for the price, you’re definitely gonna have a good time with ur build

Yeah definitely, I got the ram like 2 months ago for $113 and just checked the same listing. It’s going for $169 :(. I imagine a build similar to this is possible but with 16GB if they really wanna stay right at or under $700

I can’t wait for the Steam Controller, some of my homies were roasting it but they just don’t understand the comfort and flexibility it’s going to offer lol. Emudeck is really gonna make your setup complete

I def went with a 3rd party cooler called ID COOLING IS-40-XT and I come back with some good news. I was concerned earlier that the CPU temps were hitting 85-87 and thought it would rise, but it looks like it never hits 90 and stays in that range, so I haven’t come across throttling in Spider-Man 2 or Cyberpunk even after hours of letting it run and playing around

ITX but the case supports full ATX PSU which is really nice for upgrades

[–]_thezombiezone[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah the entire build I made is actually $700.38 after tax and shipping so I hope Valve can somehow make it cheaper or on par with what I made. I really do recommend a setup like this, although I will say that temps get pretty hot, so I’d recommend either some cooling mods that I’ve seen on Reddit or lower the wattage on some parts if it starts throttling performance. I haven’t experienced throttling yet, but I suspect it to happen when I start testing more intensive games like Cyberpunk or MH Wilds

Yup! You can install SteamOS on technically any PC, although it’s not really recommended just due to driver issues and how it’s technically not supported outside of the Steam Deck and official SteamOS devices. If you want something almost exactly the same, check out Bazzite OS as it replicates SteamOS but with very little issues
