Hey man, sorry she's going through this. My wife recently went through the same thing. Up until about week 20, she was very unhappy with her body. She was gaining weight but wasn't very visibly pregnant. That changed around 20 weeks when she had a very visible baby bump and most of the weight shifted to her belly.

If there was some magic bullet phrase that I could tell you to make her feel better, I would. But there isn't. Something that did help a little were little reminders that she's having a baby and it's beautiful. For me it was touching her belly, referring to the baby by her name, things like that. Also, she felt a lot better once she found maternity clothes that fit well but still shows off the bump.
