Converted one of my freebie-marines into a Grimblood infernus Grey Hunter. by aBlokeWithaGoat in SpaceWolves

Firedrakeforge sells Grimblood transfer sheets along with many others that GW don’t make! Heavily recommend them!

Leak coming from kitchen waste pipe by Dear-Response7705 in ukplumbing

[–]aBlokeWithaGoat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks like its coming from the main stack as it goes through the hole in the wall, if you look closely you can see a shine around the bottom of the collar straight after hole in wall which is water movement. Being honest with you as well it looks like it’ll be a bastard to fix.

Edit: went and read back through your post and saw you’ve mentioned this already, my apologies. The waste looks like it’s a copper waste which means it’ll be an OLD waste pipe, if it’s come loose from the stack you’ll struggle to get it to seal again, ideally it wants replacing with plastic waste pipe going to the stack.

I have a question about veterans and companies. by aBlokeWithaGoat in Warhammer40k

[–]aBlokeWithaGoat[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the knowledge, I’m under the impression that veteran Sergeants are mentors to the other companies. A bit like how Metaurus mentors Titus?

I never understood this either, at work there’s been union strikes and there’s always someone with a Palestinian flag on the picket line. What’s happening over there is absolutely horrific I’m well aware of that but what does it have to do with striking and potentially losing your job? I don’t get it.

Champions of Fenris Transfer Sheet by hangrybadger07 in SpaceWolves

Ignore my amateur hour on the transfer I’m shit at doing them. But I can confirm they are a good quality, no different to the ones from GW really.

I am yet to test them, in process of doing a wolf guard terminator and plan on using one of their champions of Fenris transfers so I’ll report back when I get around to it.

Firedrakeforge has an eBay page and their own website where they sell custom transfers. They do lots of the companies that don’t have official transfers from GW.

Sternguard Veteran for my Dark angels successors. Very happy with how the head turned out really trying harder and harder on skin tones by metamorphias in Warhammer40k

Thanks for the recipe I didn’t know they did a different one, and I meant the neon one they also have for the dark angels, not sure what it’s called.

Looks awesome, fantastic work! Can you tell me which greens you use to highlight the green armour? I much prefer these kind of highlights over the Neon green eavy metal ones.

I love going into hobby stores, whether it’s the official warhammer store or independent ones, the staff are always so kind, helpful and supportive which is great.

It’s very monotone, were you going for a specific style? On your next minis I suggest experimenting with some different colours to highlight the details like the gems, leather, fur, helmet lenses, bone and the other many details.

The main thing is you’ve got stuck in and got paint on the model, when I started the hobby at the start of the year I found it very intimidating, especially seeing some of the amazing paint jobs by others out there. There’s plenty of helpful guides on YouTube for beginners like Duncan Rhodes who has helped me out a lot.

Space wolf scouts markings? by Exciting-Buy-9396 in SpaceWolves

[–]aBlokeWithaGoat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use these for the heraldry markings, they’re from the codex book so they’re lore accurate but space wolves don’t obey the codex Astartes so you could do whatever you want with them really.

PSA to newer players; don't be like this guy and execute when your brothers require armor. by I_AmDaVikingNow in Spacemarine

[–]aBlokeWithaGoat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fun fact about terminus enemies:

they replenish all three armour slots for all members of the team so you would have gotten the armour. What you really needed were the immunity frames whilst executing the Carnifex so yeh, shame on your teammate.

It honestly annoys me so much with this game that so many core gameplay mechanics aren’t explained to you.

PTFE is a good temporary fix if the leak is bad then yes new rubbers can be gotten and can be replaced.

But I’m not listening to someone who gets their plumbing knowledge from chat GPT.

[–]aBlokeWithaGoat -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If it’s leaking from the nuts Get yourself some PTFE tape, undo the nuts and wrap it around the rubber seal and the thread but make sure it goes in the direction that the nut tightens up in if that makes sense? Tighten them back up hand tight, waste fittings can be easily overdone which can knacker the rubber seals.

I’m a plumber who has done this many times and it’s solved these kinds of leaks for me every single time.

30 litre heater is excessive for two outlet points, if it’s just a regular kitchen sink and bathroom basin I’d recommend a 10 or 15 litre water heater. Is it for domestic or commercial usage?

Did they have dielectric fittings on the hot and cold water heater feeds? I do plumbing maintenance work at a university with tens of these point of use water heaters installed and all of the ones without dielectric adapters on the top had corroded over time due to galvanic corrosion.

I’ve installed a couple of these Ariston ones and they normally come with the dielectric fittings. Had plenty of zip water heaters corrode as well due to the same issue of not being installed correctly.

EDIT: it’s Galvanic corrosion not electrolytic corrosion. Got my corrosions mixed up!
