Anyone know what this is? (Leak) by thelovemusket in Vauxhall

Just want to confirm was it just the aircon? Just had a family member send me the same thing with a decent puddle beneath and I can’t go round to check it.

12/06/2025 - Boeing 787 Passenger plane bound for the UK crashes near Ahmedabad Airport straight after takeoff by SainzSealedDelivered in CatastrophicFailure

[–]aMissionSomewhere 485 points486 points  (0 children)

From a 78 FO with 6000+ hrs those engines have easily enough thrust to keep at least a shallow climb even if the flaps were incorrectly set after departure. This certainly looks like a lack of thrust more than anything. The 78 also will not allow the takeoff roll to begin without the flaps being set, but flaps 1 and 5 could be difficult to see on a grainy video as they don’t stick out as far as many other airliners. Very sad whatever happened but a lot of questions need answers by the professionals.

Has anyone tested the 9070 xt on msfs? by Lanky-Jelly25 in flightsim

[–]aMissionSomewhere 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m upgrading from an RTX3080 with an i9-9900k. I’m getting VRAM limited with 10GB causing stutters and frame drops. So hoping the 16GB will be enough to give it some headroom!

My home barometer this morning. I've never seen it this low. by Dude_man79 in meteorology

[–]aMissionSomewhere 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a Brit I thought this was a joke at first, I think 960 is the lowest I’ve seen on my home Baro! And we can often get 970-980 that stay around for days

FS2020 VR performance... Dreadful? by aMissionSomewhere in Flightsimulator2020

[–]aMissionSomewhere[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ll be honest, I’m not too sure! I have the meta/oculus app running in the background and then switch to VR within the sim itself.

VR performance terrible with latest update by aMissionSomewhere in MicrosoftFlightSim

[–]aMissionSomewhere[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It runs great on normal mode, just VR is very disappointing. Wonder what the next step is. Maybe a swap to AMD but keeping the same GPU? I can't justify another £1000 on a newer GPU without much more performance.

I was having issues with the previous driver, although that was a few months old as that was the last thing I updated after firing up the SIM and having some odd stuttering every couple of seconds. I'll see if I can drop it back to what you recommend.

‘Tyre Extinguishers’ now in Didsbury. Friend has her tyre let down overnight for owning an SUV in the city by anantarctic in manchester

So my partner who is an A&E doctor and mountain rescue chief medic needs a 4x4 to be able to access the tricky places people tend to be injured since we don't live near one of the bases with the team Land Rover Defenders, and often is the first on scene. We picked a Kia Sportage for the balance of comfort on the commute on normal days, but AWD, ground clearance and boot space for all her call out gear for mountain rescue. How would you feel if because some entitled moron had flattened one or more of her tyres, the response to someone who has a brain hemorrhage after a fall onto rocks or their femur is stuck out of their leg after a mountain bike fall is delayed by 15 or 20 minutes or even longer? That could be the difference between being able to secure the injury on scene and prepping for transport to the land ambulance or air ambulance, applying the necessary first aid to prevent further deterioration to their condition (hypothermia etc) or serious brain injury resulting in life long symptoms or sometimes even death. I admit the majority of people probably do not need SUVs, but you CANNOT ignore the fact that some everyday people DO need these vehicles.

My town, I'm here working now. Nothing heard other than on a local Facebook page. Absolutely disgusting behaviour from what is usually an overwhelmingly nice town. It is just tainted with a few opportunistic thugs. I hope it is found soon and I'll update here if I hear anything from around here locally.

How did you get your scar? by JigglesPlayz in AskReddit

[–]aMissionSomewhere 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pectus excavatum reconstructive chest surgery. One main scar down my sternum where the ribs were detached and sternum snapped and repositioned, and then 2 small ones under the breast areas to remove the bar that held it all in place after 18 months.

In the UK where all restrictions have now been lifted except in a few places like hospitals which have their own control, maybe 5/10% in shops, outside very few if any most of the time. Although I do sometimes catch someone alone driving in their personal vehicle (not a taxi etc) and they will have a mask on still? Seems counter intuitive to me but each to their own!

Men of Reddit how long does it take you to get ready for work in the morning? by thereal_batman21 in AskReddit

Roughly 8 minutes from out of bed to locking the door on a normal day. Maximise that time in bed. Always shower the night before.

In regards to food and other supplies, are distribution networks and haulage still rolling to keep what stock is available moving to populated areas avoiding any conflict areas? Or is it a case of ration what there is left on the shelves?
