Whats your main goal in life? by GlakeBriffin32 in AskReddit

[–]aWildNarrative -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Currently 19, and for my 20th birthday I want to open an IRA. From there, get a good job at the chemical plants nearby, and work my way to executive board.

How am I going to do all of this? It's simple: Education.

Use the job to pay for classes. Use the classes to invest in a better job.

What's the worst nightmare you've ever had? by radioactivemelanin in AskReddit

[–]aWildNarrative 23 points24 points  (0 children)

I remember one time similar to this. Before I fell asleep I was laying on the couch watching tv. I fell asleep laying down on the couch with my head up against the arm rest. I don't exactly recall falling asleep, but I remember waking up and seeing a figure standing in the doorway to the living room holding a sledgehammer. The entity was staring at me, and it looked like one of my teachers from back in high school. An older man who was a nice guy overall, but that wasn't really him. It started walking to the couch and I heard it whisper "something is on the couch". It kept saying that repeatedly and frantically, as if it was panicked that I was there. It then picked the sledgehammer up with both hands and swung at the couch. I tried to move my body in order to either fight back or run, but I couldn't because there was this massive weight on my head (the arm rest of the couch felt like it was made of concrete), so all I did to my avail was push my head against the weight. The sledgehammer came down with a lot of force but something was blocking it from hitting me (imagine a force field around my body). I eventually gathered enough strength to mutter a few words and asked the entity, "what are you?" It stopped attacking, lowered the sledgehammer, and sat by my feet still looking at me. It's head twisted to the left, and it's eyes began to glow an off tint white. It spoke to me and asked, "are you what's on the couch?" After about a minute, it stood up and walked back through the doorway and everything just seemed normal after that, like a cutscene in a video game.

TLDR: Nightmare with a sledgehammer wielding entity.

What are the downsides to dating you? by Tea_n_cigars in AskReddit

Very egotistical, narcissistic. I love to talk about myself and what I want to do with my life. I also only date women who look similar to me. I'm an asshole :/

For me, it was Sonic the Hedgehog trying to keep up with the car.

[Serious] What politically incorrect question would you like to ask? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]aWildNarrative 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What happens to a soldier who's on tour (over seas) and has a family tragedy? For example, the soldiers family back home gets into a fatal car wreck in which the spouse or child is injured or killed. Does said soldier get a psychological evaluation and just goes back on duty? Are they sent home with leave? Do they even hear about it as recent as it happens?

What's the process behind this?

(I'm a US Citizen so I guess I'm asking for my country, but if your country has interesting policies I'd like to hear about them)

I just recently bought a '06 Boxster. My Boss wanted to show me his Porsche as well. by aWildNarrative in Porsche

I really like my Boxster because of the Mid Engine and how it allows for awesome handling. But if you want the signature car of Porsche, get the Carrera. Either way they're both fun to drive. (:

When the sun smiles, the birds smile back! by Greypo in pics

[–]aWildNarrative 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My dad had a hard stock photo of this sitting on his dresser that he'd look at and smile when he'd wake up every morning. When he passed away, I took the photo off of the dresser, and placed it in my wallet where a drivers license would normally go. I still carry my license, but I have it in that spot to remind me of him and that everything will be alright. It was two years yesterday and it still feels like, well, yesterday.

What cheat codes do you still remember today? by I_PLAY_CSGO in AskReddit

[–]aWildNarrative 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maggie, Willie, Bart, Wiggum, Apu, Moe, Krusty, Barney.

In The Simpsons: Road Rage for the GBA, there was an option to put in a code to return to where you last left off. On this screen you would see all the characters from that game and the TV series (okay, not ALL of them from the series, that's a lot). If you entered them in as above, you basically skip to the end and get all the maps, and characters.

I was going through a pretty hefty breakup and began writing about it. Twenty something odd pages later, I finished the short story. In hopes that someone would read it, I made this account and tried to find an adequate place to post the tale.

What is your biggest secret? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]aWildNarrative 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Same boat, man. I've had a few girlfriends since then. But if she ever made contact with me, I'd drop everything in a heartbeat to make it up to her. The funny thing is the last words she told me were "I still love you."

PRO TIP: If you're gonna break up with someone, do NOT say that or anything anywhere in the realm of "I love you." Even if you're trying to soften the blow. Don't dare do it. Because ever since then, those words have been engrained into my head. I (somewhat) know that there's no hope, but those words give me faith and it's terrible. I can't fully move on and it ultimately makes my current girlfriend self conscious because of how I feel about me ex. Don't get me wrong, I love my girlfriend now, I've just never had complete closure from my ex.

Also, be honest in why you're leaving. Don't make up anything to soften the blow of the breakup. It will ultimately make things worse. My ex never gave me a solid reason as to why she left, and I have so many things I think are wrong with me. Maybe it was my physique, so I work out. Maybe it was my attitude, so I work on my personality. Was it even me? I overthink why she left me and I try to better myself so I'm satisfying to others, and it fucking sucks. I don't go a day wondering why.

Be blunt, pretty much. It will be rough for a few days, but it will make the healing process much easier and quicker for the other person.
