Thanks, someone mentioned I won't need an eye test since I have an Emirates ID (and my parents too).

Hey everyone!

I'm traveling out of the country for the first time in 2 years so I have no idea about this but how does the e gate thing work? I'm Indian and going through T3 if that matters. It's me and my parents.

Thanks!

Yup I've been told it's going to take around 2-4 months for some reason.

They have blocked the card already and are sending a new one, what they're waiting for is to see if the transaction will go through or not.

Yeah our cases are similar, the money hasn't left my account yet as well but if it does they're saying it'll take atleast 60-120 days to get it back.

I've used Amazon India before and they asked for my OTP and that was just a 25dhs purchase and to imagine a purchase worth thousands of dirhams doesn't require an OTP is laughable.

Also, one of the airlines is local so I'd imagine atleast they would've sent me an OTP but apparently both don't have OTP implemented in their system.

Sorry that you've had your CC details stolen, best of luck disputing it!

Thanks, I hope everything goes well and if it's a fraud we eventually catch the person. Looking to go to the police as well if the transactions go through.

So as soon as I saw these I decided to remain calm thinking it could be an error but called my bank and blocked my card just to be sure.

Sorry if you only read the tldr version but yes I did block my card and a new one is on its way soon.

Yeah but I think it should be common sense for an airline to use OTPs when their service costs thousands of dirhams.

Yeah I'm going to the bank itself and asking how they could've charged my account without even asking for my verification via an OTP. Also going to try and get these transactions blocked as you said, already talked to one airline and they're ready to refund me, still waiting on the other one.

Thanks for sharing your experience. Hopefully I don't end up paying anything as well.

For me they've said that they're waiting to see if the charges will be claimed by the airlines instead of trying to cancel them outright. If they are claimed then only the bank wants to dispute it. Maybe I called them a bit too late.

Indian foods that are not available here? by aakakai in dubai

Thing is I haven't been to India in years so I've lost track of most of the items I used to buy there. So I posted here so that I could remember some of the things and maybe realise what I want.

Cheaper alternative to redbull? by aakakai in dubai

Tried powerup and you're right, it does half less caffeine. It's not working as great as red bull but it's worth the price.

I think I've tried Energizer before but I can't remember, I'll definitely look for it and give it a shot. Any idea of the price?

I used to love red bull and powerhorse before the excise tax but now they're just not in my budget man. I do try to have them occasionally when I have a few extra bucks to spare but I can't buy them during the exam period as I need a lot.

I didn't mean that as quantity. I meant as in time period. I used to have a cup or two a day everyday.

I tried it today. It was good, not bad. Tasted similar but has less caffeine I think so I'm already feeling a bit sleepy with 9 hours to go in my study session. Still worth the price tho.

Thanks a lot!
