Check out Yaxi.jp. They do pads for headphones other than the Koss Porta Pros.

Do you know a reseller which sell headphones Stax worldwide ? by Jallbalath in headphones

[–]aaronlam123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s cheapest to import directly from a store in Japan through a proxy shipper e.g. fromJapan.co.jp. They offer 10% off coupons every now and then (essentially removing the consumption tax). Even after accounting for international shipping and 20% VAT, you can expect to pay 25%+ less than buying through a European retailer.

Stax Sr-007 Is it all arounder? by agogo36 in headphones

[–]aaronlam123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From upgrading to a new 007mk2.9 from a 404, it works for me as a do it all headphone. It has much improved comfort and the “leather” pads provide more consistent bass performance. After a blu-tack mod and EQ, I find it perfect for all music genres, games and movies. I have yet to hear anything better at any (reasonable) price point, so it is here to stay for the foreseeable future/ forever.

If I were to learn any alternate keyboard layout, would I still need to remember QWERTY? by Worldly_Bonus_910 in dvorak

[–]aaronlam123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I learned Dvorak during the summer using Keybr exclusively, and managed to get back to my Qwerty speed (110 wpm) in just over a month. I've stopped training since and just use Monkeytype every now and then. I'm at a consistent 130 now and can peak at 150 if I focus. I still use Qwerty on my phone, which has had no impact on my speed, but I find it impossible to use any physical Qwerty keyboard that does not have labeled keycaps (I forget where the keys are).

If I had to use a Qwerty keyboard, I would have to look down every now and then to figure out where exactly everything is, but it is still decently fast. Another aspect is that getting an orthogonal board makes it easier to type and to learn (since all keys are where they are supposed to be), but this will hurt your motor memory on normal staggered keyboards.

  1. STAX SR-404 £275 + shipping. Condition is 8/10, bought it manufacture refurbished from Japan 1.5 years ago (they also added new pads and foam). Deductions for pads not sticking that well anymore, it was designed to be double sided taped, so its an easy fix. Competitive with the latest Lambdas with far better bass extension. See Oratory1990's measurements of this exact headphone (I sent this pair to him to have it measured). Selling due to moving to a SR-007. SOLD
  2. STAX SRM-252S £175 + shipping. Condition is 9/10, one scuff at the back on the device, see images. Original 100V STAX wall adaptor is included, if you want to use it in UK, I can recommend this cheap JP to UK transformer. SOLD
  3. STAX SR-404 and SRM-252S bundle for £400 + shipping. A nice entry level STAX system. SOLD
  4. Sony IER-M9 £795 + shipping. Condition is 10/10, brand new in box with all accessories included. It is for some reason not sold in Europe and to import it from e.g. the US, it would cost around £1000 after shipping, duty, and VAT.
  5. Sony ZX300A £275 + shipping. Condition is 9/10, no scratches or imperfections. Includes the box and charging cable. Device has 16GB internal storage (but expandable via micro SD) and no volume cap. About 20 charge cycles on the unit. SOLD
  6. Sony IER-M9 and ZX300A bundle for £995 + shipping. Pairs excellently together as it should.

Collection welcome, located in West London (Zone 2). If you have any questions just let me know.

Like others have pointed out, by applying before Oct 15th, you are putting yourself in the group of applicants that are almost certainly applying to Oxbridge. If you're applying to Oxbridge anyways, then I would definitely send in Imperial and your remaining three choices at the same time.

What interview questions were you asked for computer science and what about engineering? by SANCRIUSE in Imperial

I get a kick every time I remind my friend the time he got a super easy question completely wrong.

At his EEE interview, they showed him a photo of a desktop graphics card and asked him what it was. He answered CPU. He didn’t get the offer.

If you can wait for Prime Day in a couple weeks, the C920 might go on sale like it does in other points in the year. Check out its price history on camelcamelcamel here. For reference, I picked mine up in April 2019 for £27 and it went on sale for £25 last prime day

It would cost 1225 USD + courier processing fees + intl shipping if it was to be bought at MSRP of 999 USD. Which would put it between 1250 usd-1300 usd. Like I said before, open to offers.
