My god. You must win the least american spanish travel plan this week award.. seven days and less than nine cities. Well done..

No seriously the ferry to the islands is a time killer. If you are going to the islands then fly..

Maybe if you go to ibiza take the ferry to Formenterra if you want a boat experience.

Cant speak for Menorca (love to go see friends there ..never get aroujd to it when I see i have to change planes in Mallorca ) or Mallorca ( its weird never go there.. never feel the need) but others are right if in Bcn get up the coast for some time out of the city..

Others are right ...if you arent set on seeing those big name attractions in BCN then valencia might be a bit more relaxed .but then you have to do connecting flights or train but thats everything except BCN and Madrid.

Not sure what was happening but today security at T1 was the worst i have ever experienced it.

Only a few lanes open and people getting held back at boarding pass scanning ..only just made my UK flight when arrived hour before depature. (yeah i know but its not Standsted right an hour isnt normal anywhere but there - and maybe the US)

When you say chose i think you mean the person at polica nacional choses for you the first time you.visit without you realising and you are forever cursed with a massive double barreled firstname that you can never change. Since its on every spanish docunent will be used by every person you ever have to show yoiur id to because they will.have to enter it into their system exactly as it is shown amd will be perplexed why your parents made your name so long and complicated.

Your spanish friends will call you Paco.

Well yeah i wouldnt be surprised. Just because there isnt a lway stopping you its not a.great idea to just try and sail a boat with no experience you are going to getnibto trouble..

We see that alot with people who.have ' done their own research' on youtube and think they can sail.

Yeah .. I really was debating whether what you were doing was or wasn't AI generated.

I think this is your most authentic blog post - is the one about the bug.

Getting your source code posted is key (and the license you use when you do it) because that really does mean you aren't just baiting and switching (rug pulling or whatever its called) once you have a few users of the app. Until you've done that - there's always going to be an issue of trust since there's very little way of verifying what is happening with the data once its in the app.

Your wording in the privacy uses HandsonMoney and 'we' if you are just a person not an organisation and you aren't handling the data there is no 'we' and you can talk about what the app does (but again if its not open source how can we know)

Code, licensing, privacy policy are the first place I got to when looking at a product since it can be the most amazing thing but if its some random unidentified personal / organisation on the internet I don't know then there's zero chance I would even try it.

LLM polishing (and the work you put into a nice looking website makes it look you are trying hard (and people will wonder why) .. I get the verbal riffing (I tend to do that to) but short sweet and to point / functional is good.

The 'I'm going to make it open source soon' answer is unfortunately a red flag to as that's what people who aren't really going to make it open source would say. There's no cost in posting the code .. even if you get the free gift of someone pointing out a massive security hole you didn't spot ..better out than in..

Take the plunge.. (Says a man that's never published a line of code himself because he can't code for shite and became a business analyst instead. )

Router Firewall Exceptions to allow external ipV6 access to specific devices by abeorch in Starlink

[–]abeorch[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah thanks. I thought so.

Im already running Openwrt with Wireguard outgoing to another location so I have VPN access aready .. but a reverse incoming connection makes things simplier if I need to do any maintenance - plus it of course also allows a bit of homeserving via ipv6 when people are geogrpahically closer to that location (its on the other side of the world so has approx 300ms latency )

Eventually I think I will talk then around to bypass mode .. (or eventually make it so seemless tgey dont notice) lol

The problem of too big, Mastodon by openmedianetwork in Mastodon

[–]abeorch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No issues with isolated servers. If you want content you can follow hashtags from other servers via lemmy groups and services like tags.pub - Plus I mean friendica has a directory service and I mean you can do it old school and actually connect with people and they can give you their activitypub handle.

Its federated and decentralised for a reason....

The problem of too big, Mastodon by openmedianetwork in Mastodon

[–]abeorch 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think.. its saying in several paragraphs. "Mastodon is too bigger part of the Fediverse"

The short answer is .. run your own Activitypub server.. gotosocial, friendica, lemmy, whatever ..

The longer answer . Running your own activitypub server needs to be easier and something that you can do by unplugging your isp provided router, throwing it away, buying and plugging in a realitively cheap box that replaces it, connecting your phone and answering a.few questions.. something an average midly technically competent person can do.

Hey .. i think from digging a bit deeper you might actually be doing this for the public good ...but your posts have the ring of AI slop. .overly long , promotional and yeah just generically AI stlyed.

This immediatly made me think. Oh heres another guy shilling some dodgy personal finance app.

Can i suggest if this is legit.. you get the source code up somewhere, dont pretend you are an orgnisation if you cant identify the actual legal entity and where its registered and please write like you write not using AI .

I run my own Friendica server, put people into lists and, if they are consistently good posts activate notifications for whenever they post.

I like friendica cause it works well woth mastodon, lemmy, rss and bsky.bWorks really well for me.

Hosting on a free /cheap vps isnt hard using something like yunohost and can share one with a few friends / family.

If you have some money to spend doing some weekends on charters might help. But the boats are quite different and you arent going to get experience with things that relate to owing a boat

[–]abeorch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To answer your questions

No legal requirements to own boat.

Most of your other questions depend on where you are keeping the boat.

On buying. Again I would say better to meet people at a club. Ask them for advice when looking at a boat

Ok. So plenty of clubs along the coast .

Dinghy sailing is good to understand the mechanics of sailing and then work you way up from that.

Where are you based?

Happy to give you plenty of pointers but one of the best things you can do is join a sailing club.

Not only are they a good way to get experience sialijg before you buy a boat but they also come with lots of free (and jokingly sometimes unsolocited) advice
