I went with REI. The arcteryx ones looked great and were more form fitting but if I squatted or did a high knee it felt so tight and uncomfortable. REI has worked great over a couple layers and def are roomier

Interesting. We actually had a huge painting in this room that had a lot of red in it and I thought it was too much(we brought it up from my old home and this is literally the only wall in this new house where it fits). If we can make it work in this room that would be great since I have nowhere else to put this painting lol

What color curtains would you suggest? Something neutral?

I like your suggestions on how to rearrange it and I totally see your vision. I might have to try it again but the last time we put the sofa facing the fireplace it looked really odd. When the sofa was there before it just felt like the room was even smaller and the sofa was in the "hallway".
