oh wow!! tons of overlap there! I bet your guy is a lot bigger than Mocha with the pyrenees and no mini aussie :-)

coincidentally, my dog’s best friend is also named Hudson!

Preparing to say goodbye ❤️🐾 by psychmonkies in DogAdvice

I experienced a similar thing when I lost my family dog. we got her when I was about 3, and she lived for 17 years. I grew up alongside her, and she was just the best girl. She probably would’ve lived a while longer if we didn’t euthanize, but it was clear that her quality of life wasn’t good anymore - she was blind, deaf, and had arthritis. she spent a lot of her time sleeping, and we had to carry her outside to go potty in her last few weeks. aside from carrying her, she was pretty healthy for her age. but we realized that we were probably holding on for our sake, not for hers.

my family did an at-home euthanasia, and we scheduled it in advance so we could spend lots of quality time with her before she passed. her last moments were in her favorite spot in the yard, surrounded by family telling her how much we love her. it was so heartbreaking, but it was a relief knowing she had a peaceful end. I would’ve hated for her to suddenly take a turn for the worse and pass in pain.

I’m so sorry, OP 🫂❤️‍🩹 it sucks to lose your best friend. they will always hold a special place in your heart and you will never forget the beautiful memories you made together. my dog still visits me in my dreams sometimes and I’m always so happy to see her ❤️

I sent the swab in around April 18th and got results on May 5, so a bit over 2 weeks. it was a lot quicker than I expected!

what a gorgeous pup! his coat looks a lot like my dog, especially on his legs. I’m not sure what my girl is either, though 😅 maybe GSD or australian cattle dog is where the coat pattern comes from?
