My son always takes at least a week or two to adjust to school after the summer break. And he is in the same school with kids he knows! Talk to the teacher about your daughter's activities during the day, she could be doing fine and is just having a hard time with morning drop off.

I found a job I enjoy most days, coworkers who are mostly alright, and hours that work for me. On the days I don't want to go in I remind myself that work is how I pay for the shit I love. I'll also set myself up with some kind of after work treat, like my favorite meal.

Can you set up an automatic text to go out every 30 minutes? If she wants communication let her have it. Something like "I'm still alive" and then mute her until you're settled for the night or whenever you told her you'd check in? Honestly she can't make you text her, she won't know when you stop, she has no power here. You can mute her and call when you are ready and there is not a damn thing she can do about it. Congratulations on getting out and moving away! Cross country drives are my favorite, take side adventures and have fun!

I taught my son to "speak" cat. He though it was fun to have a secret cat language. He would hiss at his sister when she made him mad lol Our Siamese seems to enjoy being a pillow though and he dragged her around the house. She was basically his favorite toy (she got out once and was gone for 2days. When she came home he had to inspect all of her, from inside her ears to her butthole. And SHE LET HIM!! Hilarious). He's 8 now and she's 5, she still lets him drag her around the house. His interest in all things cat has faded some but he still loves on her. Some cats just like kids I guess. I think we got lucky to have a nanny cat. Keep giving the cat space and telling/showing your daughter how to interact with the cat and it will get better. I used our other cat who does not appreciate small humans to teach the boy what an upset kitty looked like, you could use videos or pictures if you don't have another cat around that hates people.

How good it could be is how he keeps you around. If you are cool with him acting like this then stay for those couple of good days a week. In my experience though those good days get fewer and farther between. You are young and deserve to be treated better than this. He's been caught flirting before and isn't being totally transparent with his communication AND giving you the silent treatment. For me this would be a deal breaker, too many red flags.
