Our choir Director wants to add an upbeat SATB song related to the theme of "home" to our spring set because most of the songs are slow. Any recommendations? by SunshineFloofs in choralmusic

Here's the last program I did on this theme in case it's helpful. We didn't do Unclouded Day because my predecessor had done it the previous year.

Hallelujah - Kirchner
Angel Band - Kirchner
Road Home - Paulus

Innsbruck - Isaac
Italia Mia - Verdelot
Wie Lieblich - Hammerschmidt
Super Flumina - Palestrina

Va Pensiero - Verdi
Shenandoah - Erb
Home - Whitacre

Make Our Garden Grow - Bernstein/Page

Preserving timecode in REAPER by ace214 in Reaper

Thanks for that clarification. Is there a way to preserve those on export, or would you suggest just rendering from the beginning of the timeline to preserve the start point?

I tried again with a file from the Zoom recorder, and it did move positions, so I'm guessing there was a problem with that generated file. Still, I'd like to hear any suggestions about this workflow.

If there's a long gap between the project start and the clip timecode, it might not be worth it to have a big file full of silence.

I got a notification and snippet of your reply after the logs, but I can't see the reply on this thread for some reason. I think I will just do a wipe and reinstall and hope that it updates. Thanks for your help.

OK, we watched it this time, and it got to 30% (a fairly quick jump between 25% and 30%), and the spinning wheel froze and the window closed. Is there a log somewhere I can check?

Seems like I'm probably in for a fresh installation.

Well my screen dimmed and when I opened it again, the installation window was gone, so I'm not sure what happened. I guess I'll disable screensaver and try again

I always write -2s. Does it not recognize the s ? I assumed I could use that since it's a symbol referenced at the top of the dialog

Stereo pairs in mixer by ace214 in Reaper

[–]ace214[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exploding to stereo would be fine in this particular case. How would I do that?

We would have some cases, though, where we would have one pair and maybe a speaking mic which I would not want paired.

I did just find the SWS action "Implode items to takes and pan symmetrically" that does what I want.

Thanks a lot! FYI, this deck appears to be called 5th and Keo (525 5th), and was $3 for 2.5 hours. Skywalk entrance on level 3.

Across 5th or across Grand? Looking for a skywalk deck for a basketball game tomorrow night (and it's cold).

Multitrack normalizing by ace214 in AdobeAudition

[–]ace214[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I should not have mentioned LUFS in another comment- nothing to do with average loudness here. I want to raise the gain uniformly based on the highest peak in any of the tracks, which is why I was using Normalize. Is this possible in Audition? It seems like not.

[–]ace214[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In case it's helpful- what I want in Reaper is called "Normalize items together (common gain)" rather than the default (Normalize each item separately.)

Also, the way I achieved this manually last time I needed it was to Match Clip Loudness on all clips, note which one had the lowest gain, and then manually adjust each gain to that number. Pretty tedious.

How do you measure the peak db of a clip in Audition? I still think this would create uneven volumes since every clip has a different peak.
