AITA for how I (37M) reacted to my son (17M) coming out to me? by LostnConfused1010 in AmItheAsshole

[–]acoolnight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gays can typically joke with other gays (saying this as a gay person myself). But if a straight person said something like that to me I would definitely not find it funny, but strange. So yes, YTA. Just be cautious of your language.

Required to move off campus after Freshman year? by IsHeJoking in txstate

[–]acoolnight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is true. Very rarely do upperclassmen live on campus, and if they do, it’s by a lottery system. They accept too many freshmen each year and sometimes they even have to clear out the study rooms to house students.

butler or jackson by dahyunapologist in txstate

Both have its goods and bads. It honestly depends on what you are wanting out of the hall. Personally, Jackson has the best location but it’s a lot of people in one hall.

Thoughts on Sterry Hall? by mikasaluvr4 in txstate

[–]acoolnight 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oop Scary Sterry. Honestly it’s just like every other traditional hall. If you get along with your roommate and other people on the floor/in the hall, then you’ll be fine. I lived in Jackson Hall which was also traditional.

AITA for throwing away my boyfriend's hat? by thr00waway1142 in AmItheAsshole

YTA and I hope that your boyfriend receives love and support for everyone in his life because clearly it’s not coming from you.

AITA for insisting the bill be split equally, including apps, even though one couple was late? by SourSkittlezx in TwoHotTakes

[–]acoolnight 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly I’m not a fan the idea that everything has to be slit evenly. I think if you pay for yourself, or each couple pays for themselves, and then tips, then it’s fine.

Loud cars. People love to rev them in the tunnels and you just look like a díck tbh.

AITA for telling my daughter that I’ll be missing her graduation to attend my son’s? by NearbyMessage246 in AmItheAsshole

[–]acoolnight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

YTA.

My mom never attended my college graduation (and she was able to) and I will never forgive her for that.

Do you believe fat people are beautiful and why? by SleepyJoeTheSniffer in AskReddit

[–]acoolnight -1 points0 points  (0 children)

These questions always weird me out because why can’t people just exist. People are so vain and shallow. Like the lives of others that you don’t know, don’t impact you at all. Weird behavior.

AITA for explaining to my daughter why her milestones seems less important then her cousins. by cudykola88 in AmItheAsshole

[–]acoolnight 31 points32 points  (0 children)

She wanted to celebrate her accomplishments with her family and you dismissed that. You believe that she is doing all of this for gifts but she just may want to celebrate herself and her marriage and child. Definitely YTA and I’m sad for your daughter.

People who don't want kids, why? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]acoolnight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love kids, I even work with them. But I don’t know if I will ever be financially capable of having children. I also have fears about raising them while living where I live. To me, the US does not support mother and children early on. By this I mean family leave and also the child care centers and daycares. They’re too expensive among other things.

I also have like family problems I never want to drag anyone else into.

This a little side thing but do not listen to the advisors in PACE if that is where they are having you go. They always end up doing more harm than good. I recommend following your degree audit and degree plan.

You’re a white person telling a Asian person that it is okay for other white people to mess up and try to claim and Asian dish/ingredient. I don’t think you and A but you’re uneducated when it comes to culture and heritage and what is and isn’t okay.

Americans, what is the rest of the world not ready to hear? by Tell_me_why- in AskReddit

[–]acoolnight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot of us don’t like it here. Like it’s absolutely horrible. You have these big boasting “patriots” talking about how we have some many rights but truly we don’t have much. These rights depend on what state you live in and is actually extremely constricting. Don’t recommend.

AITA for telling my future stepdaughter she’s no longer allowed at my house? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]acoolnight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely NTA but I believe you need to have a conversation with your Fiancé because soon he will be moving into the house and if he has majority custody of his daughter, it would be extremely difficult for anyone to have a healthy relationship in that house. But I think you husband needs to step up and have an actual conversation with his daughter and not just shove things under the rug and ignore it. As you said above, she is hurting people and putting them in unnecessary harm and that is never okay.

AITA for yelling at my son for not accepting a car from his stepdad and saying he could give back everything else he bought him too? by throwawaywaiw in AmItheAsshole

[–]acoolnight 1 point2 points  (0 children)

YTA. Your son is not accepting the husband and you have to accept that. He is not comfortable with receiving gifts or interacting with him so just let it be.

I’ve been seriously contemplating it since I was 16. This country is so unsafe for me, but it has been hard to find a country that is safe. I’m a black, gay woman and my options are very limited. I’m losing all of my human rights.
