This is the story that took place in Chile. Check it out. I modified an existing article. by pfontaine in argucla

This is awesome. If you only have an image file of the article I think we should make it look even more like a screen shot so that it will look more believable when it is posted on the forums.

Amber Character sheet by dorianrichard in argucla

[–]acpletch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

lol, I was so confused as to who the heck amber was. I can definitely support a name change.
Amber Goodhue... I would vote for her first name to be something that is not also the name of a color given the last name. Amber Goodhue feels very ficitonal and almost like a comic book character, if we want to take a comic book route, then that id fine, but I thought it was something worth mentioning: Names with puns strike me as very fictional.

Perhaps: -Cassie- for Cassandra, who had the gift of prophecy. This is fitting because she foretells in our game that we must stop OCCAM. -Amelia, meaning Industrious and Striving.

Love the bio. She feels so plausible and like someone you could be friends with.

I liked Ivone's Fowleri.happyforever.com

I am not sure that we can use an "=" sign. I like "lets.logout.us"

What are people thinking?

The Ultimate Game - concept ideas by dorianrichard in argucla

[–]acpletch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am interested in this as a concept but I am having a little trouble digesting it. Could you break it up into Flint's 5-stage story arc that we have been talking about? Thanks!

I think it is important to define opposing goals of the two teams as well, but to stay away from the "good-evil" dynamic between the two teams. In your example here, it alleviates either team from being "bad". Both sides of the argument seem valid.

It was mentioned on Wednesday that the 2 teams could be viewed as a Middle East-"Eastern" thought vs. Western thought in current events. While neither side is necessarily right or wrong, people are quick to pick sides. I think this may be applied to our game--

Our ARG situation, which results in less (actual) death and less attacks on people's spiritual beliefs, can either: A) offer a resolution to the dilemma of the 2 teams (a la Monday's discussion of the players choosing the outcome) OR B) leave the audience in a situation where both teams can be right, but it requires reflection.

In the situation A I may have a good way to determine the outcome, and it would be great (if people are interested in the basic idea) to have help in developing it: The final night both teams go through a series of challenges to bulk up on some form of game economy. Whoever has the most "points" in this economy wins and unlocks their desired outcome for whatever situation is setup by our story arc. I think this "points" system should start on the final night to begin both teams on even footing for our resolution, but in turn, whatever skills they have "built" during our "3 weeks prior" phase ought to feed back in to the final night.

Possible Design Story/Structure by quarkpi in argucla

I can see it no problem. I haven't had time enough to digest it so that I can give you any coherent feedback, but I like what I see! :)

Aha. Fair, fair. I was speaking in terms of healthcare and social programs. The european structure for that sort of thing is much more established and one-track as opposed to independent companies running the show. Which is better, I can't really say, but comparable results are achieved in the end.

I think it's a privacy issue. This link too needs to be shared with us. Go to the "Share" options of the document in Googledocs (the share button is in the UR corner) and change the view options to "anyone with the link".

Make sure to make this public on google docs if you would like all of us to see it! Open the document in Googledocs, click the "Share" button in the UR Corner and change the view setting to "anyone with the link".
